Still going strong

I bought this drive about 5 years ago (2010) and I use it for storage/backup files. I fire it on maybe monthly or so and I've never had a problem with it. Now, the speed is a little dated but eSata speeds aren't too bad.

Reliable, Power-Saving

Works like a champ

Not worth buying if it is going to die so quickly.

It holds 2 TB of data and the transfer speed isn't bad since it has a 3.0 connection

It was used for less than 2 months before it completely stopped working on me. I transferred over 500GB of data to it, and within a month after that backup was done, the drive no longer would spin. I am sure that this is the issue as it was once a...

I normally go for cheap, but...

2TB of memory - good paperweight

I bought this because I could tell my laptop was about to go Kaput (which it did) and I had a ton of movies, shows, pictures, and VERY important papers stored on my laptop. So I transferred it over to the Fantom. Worked well and everything checked out...

My husband is a very happy man

My husband received this from me for Christmas today. Not only am I a 'smart' wife for getting him a hard drive but I am a 'really smart' wife for getting him a portable one. His only complaint is that the included cable is not an ESATA and that normal...

Compact design with plug and play capability. Easy to transfer and large available storage space

No included esata cable

Caveat Required

This is a standard usb 2 drive. Speed is typical for usb 2. It looks and acts like all the other Fantom external drives they sell with the exception that it also has an eSata socket.

This is just one of several Fantom drives I own. I does what it's supposed to do, store files

It seems lately that HD manufacturers believe they do not need to make hard drives compatible in the FAT-32 format as like the other formats as they once did. I bought this drive specifically because I thought I could re-format it as a FAT-32 drive as...

Good but...

Fantom's RMA process is a bit different from the typical. You create a "Trouble Ticket" to explain the problem and wait for a response, rather than submit an RMA request. However, Fantom was quick to respond and an RMA was issued within 2 business...

I have purchased 8 Fantom external drives, 4 of which are the GreenDrive Pro 2TB USB 2.0/eSATA variety (GDP2000EU), in the past 4 years. They are proven themselves to be pretty reliable, especially given the relatively low cost. They are very quite...

The only issue I have with this particular purchase is that one of the two "GreenDrives" ordered was a "spare", which I only recently (3/2/13) opened to discover that it was DOA, right out of the box. So, I've had to request an RMA for that unit

Died after a year and a half

Solid construction, lots of space

It died after a year and a half while my other older external drives live on

Junk! Look elsewhere

This drive was meant to replace a similar model. Apparently, "green" in the title of the new drive means "trash". Skip it and get something more reliable.

Reasonable size, USB and eSATA

Seemed finicky from the get-go, then died after one hour of usage. Now shows up as unformatted drive (when it shows up at all) and causes Disk Management console to freeze
