SanDisk Extreme 2 240GB SSD Review

With the release of the \0 Extreme 2 240GB Solid State Drive, SanDisk is proving once again that they were more than just a NAND manufacturer. They'r

SanDisk may be onto something here. While their competitors have been hell-bent on pushing the boundaries regardless of end-user cost, the

Works, and is cheap

Have one game (Swtor) and some applications and software with now at around 90gb... fills up quickly. You want as much on your SSD as possible for fast retrieval so get an appropriately sized drive for your application. For a 14 year old girl, this is...

Fast, reliable, has SanDisk software available as a separate download from SanDisk website to monitor and optimize the drive. I'm getting the new 850 pro myself but, for the money, this is a great buy

128 gig is prob too small for today's operations

Slow compared to other SSD's

Cheap, faster than a HDD

Fastest benchmarks i have got with this guy 333 mb/s write and 546 mb/s read. The speeds are pretty spot on from the spec sheet however slower than other SSD's Similarly priced (Actually for $2 more) Corsair Force LS SSD get 535 write and 560 read....

Pleasantly Surprised

If you've never used an SSD drive as your boot drive, try it!!! You'll never go back to a regular hard drive (other than for storage). This drive boots my i5 Windows 7 system in about 15 seconds. MS Office applications open in about 2 seconds, and...

Extremely fast. Just did my first computer build, and based on research and suggestion from a friend, set up system to use SSD drive for boot drive. Absolutely blown away with boot speed, speed with which programs opened, and shutdown speed. Could...

It was cheap but I have picked up rocks for free which are more useful

Doesn't work! Doesn't exist according to the SanDisk website. When the SanDisk Extreme II 120g SSD is connected to to my ASUS Z97-P motherboard it locks up all SATA devices (it does not matter which SATA port). With it out of the system, everything...

Super Drive

If you don't need a lot of space, this drive is a reasonable deal. (Anything smaller is too small for a laptop.) I recommend this only if you know how to replace a drive yourself.

Replaced the slow 5400 RPM 1TB drive that came with my Laptop, the process was quick and painless (no re-configuring anything, system recognized the change of drives right away & it turned off auto defrag).Benefits were ; 1. My Toshiba Satellite L50-A...

1. It doesn't get my kid dressed for school ; 2. It doesn't make my breakfast, lunch or dinner ; 3. It won't stop my wife from complaining

Everything I Expected

doesn't come with a converter. I put this in an old LGA 775 box with SATA2 and it blows away my WD caviar black. SSD is still the wild west and you have to hope you don't get a bad one, but i say take the risk and go for it, and don't worry too much...

I researched SSDs for weeks before taking the plunge on this one. It seems to me that longevity is an issue so we shall see if this holds up like i expect, which is that the nCache system will provide both improved performance and keeping the MLC nand...

none so far ; When i ordered this i was under the impression from some reviews that the nCache was SLC, but apparently that is not true. I think a hybrid SLC/MLC drive would be great. Let's hope that the tweak they did to th MLC cache keeps it working...
