AKG K44 Closed Back Studio Headphones

Andrew Robinson put on the AKG K44 headphones for review. After running the headphones through a series of tests, he came up with a distinct impression of who the headphones might work best for. Read on to find out.

Despite the all-plastic black finish, the K44 headphones are rather attractive and far less garish than many of today's look-at-me studio headphones ; For closed-back studio cans, the K44 headphones are surprisingly comfortable long-term, thanks to...

I appreciate AKG providing me with ample cable with which to connect the K44 to my source of choice. However, the cable can become unruly at times, albeit it rarely tangles due to its thickness ; At low volumes, the K44's magic isn't altogether there,...

For roughly $80 retail, the K44 headphones from AKG's professional line of studio cans are quite good, competing favorably with headphones costing a little more. As a solid go-to headphone for both casual and critical listening, the K44 performs its...

For £15 they're great. Sound harsh at first but soon settle down.

Great for the price. I use mine with a Muse TU-20 HP amp and they sound great together.

Very inexspensive nowadays, rich bass

Plasticky. But hey for £15.... meh

Fantastic headphones for the price.

I am getting back into playing guitar again. I have been away from it for nearly ten years. When I was first playing, I usually played through amps and occasionally through headphones - the headphones that I had were so bad that I usually preferred the...

Inexpensive, high quality, clear and accurate response

Same as any other closed ear headphone, can get warm on the ear over time

AKG Acoustics K 44

For 25 € I bought these cans for my home computer, just to practice and listen my Cubase recordings of my bass, guitar and synths via my Behringer mixer. They are very comfortable to wear, fit firmly and tightly against my head. Maybe that's one reason...

AKG Acoustics K 44

I have had these headphones for about a year now and have used them heavily for my home recording projects. While mastering songs I might spend 4-5 hours with the K-44s on and I have never experienced any discomfort. The sound they produce is bright...

Decent set of cans

I bought these so I could play on the computer at home without annoying everyone. They were perfect for that job: reproducing often complex soundtracks and with plenty of bass. Best of all they can be worn for many hours without the need to take them...

Comfortable, even after several hours, good sound

Don't seem to be able to do both loud and deep bass

AKG Acoustics K 44

These are an extremely comfortable pair of cans, I've worn mine for many hours at a time and still been comfortable. They go low, and have no difficulty pelting out the bass frequencies where my speakers sound either feeble or give up on. However, turn...

Better than the price suggests

Bought these recently as my regular headphones got trashed by the kids. I was a little sceptical at first, they dont look quite as cool in the flesh as they do in the pictures, but once I used then, I realised what a great purchase they were. They are...
