AKG K495 NC Noise-Canceling Headphones

If you demand near-absolute silence from your noise-canceling headphones, these are the ones for you. The AKG K495 NCs get closer to dead silence than any other pair I tried.

AKG K495 NC Acoustics ( Black)

For 2012 AKG has two new pairs of stylish noise-canceling headphones, the $349.95 K495 NC and $249.95 K490 NC .

The AKG K495 NCs are stylish, well-built headphones with excellent fit and finish. They sound good, offer effective noise cancellation, and are rechargeable via USB. They also fold flat and come with a nice carrying case and can play without the noise...

At $350, they're pricey--and should sound even more refined; a little light on the bass.

The AKG K495 NCs aren't as comfortable and don't sound quite as good as the Bose QC 15s, but they're built better, offer very good noise-cancellation, and recharge via USB.

AKG K495 NC Headphone Review

I'll be honest, I don't have all that much experience with headphones that come with active noise cancellation. I tend to favor in-ear phones and whatever passive noise reduction they provide. Another reason is because I just don't like wearing...

Well built, good looking set of headphones ; Full, robust sound ; Comes with airline headphone adapter ; Active noise cancellation is not a gimmick, it really does work

Active Noise Cancellation comes at a price ; A little tricky to switch the noise reduction on and off

I liked the sound of the K495 NC a lot and if you’re in the market for a product like this, I can definitely recommend it.

AKG K495 NC Review: Hot-Sounding, Road-Ready, Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Toting headphones back and forth across the country (or the city) is one of the best ways to expose their design flaws. Can the new AKG K495 NC noise-...

Testing took place in New York City, where we used them daily for about a month. Lots and lots of rock music, with occasional hip hop, electronic and experimental tracks worked in. Used high-quality AAC files and online streams. • Subtlety and nuance...

The headphones convinced the jury with their clear and pure design. The genuine metal applications in particular impart an elegant, high-quality appearance.

"Good sound, they don't last more than a few months..."

While I have no complaints about the sound quality, noise cancelling or battery life, mine have broken at the same spot twice (= poor mechanical design). The problem is at the point where the head-band meets the ear-piece support at a right angle...

Nice Sound, good battery life, good noise-cancelling.

BAD mechanical design = They break every few months and require exchanging them.

"Great Sound but Very Poor Build Quality."

Harmon replaced them, under warrantee, with fairly little hassle, but who wants to go through that every 3 months, and not have the use of the headphones (because they wont stay on your head) in the interim?

Fairly comfortable, excellent sound quality, range, clarity, and exceptional noise cancellation. Battery charges quickly and last a surprisingly long time.

I've had 2 pairs of these headphones and they've both cracked and broke where the where the head-band meets the joint for the pivot arm of the ear-piece. The first pair were a gift that lasted 3 1/2 months. The second pair lasted only 2 1/2 months.

"Great sound quality / mediocre comfort"

I purchased these headphones per a glowing recommendation from Magnolia A/V. The sound quality is fantastic. I compared them side by side to a pair of Bose QuietComfort 15s and my old stalwart, the Sennheiser HD 518s, and overall felt the sound quality...

Sound quality is fantastic

Very specific parts, hard to replace (wire, usb charger)

Consumer review by:

"Superb sound and comfort"

Better sound quality than Bose

Slightly less effective noise reduction
