£1000 in-ear headphones made out of solid steel that can compete with the custom kings.

Superb sound ; Superlative build quality

As is the norm for headphones that try for such customisation (such as the Phonak PFE 232), there's only really one way to go, and it's with the grey reference tips. These tips are threaded, and fit securely onto the end of the earpiece aperture....

The AKG K3003s offer a stunning, balanced sound and a very sturdy, attractive design. They're easily among the best in-ear headphones we've heard but their horrendously high price tag means we can't recommend them.

1000! Someone is not right in the head if you ask me. Especially when you consider the lack of rock solid materials in the upper part of the cord. My experience is that most earphones eventually break, whatever you pay for them. For £1000 I would want...
