Review: Altec Lansing AHP712i Headphones

Good, peaceful sound with comfortable ear pads

Very comfortable headphones. Easy to fold and store. Includes carry bag. Airline and stereo adapters included. Active Noise Reduction works well

Sound without ANR is less bright and tonally flat, but white noise may be distracting. The ANR controller is not removable. Need to carry spare AAA battery

In spite of its success, the iPod is not really a self-contained music solution. Like early Macs, iPods breed the desire for more accessories, cooler gear, and better sound. The included earbud-style headphones just do not do justice to good sound. I

Great Headphones, Great Sound.

Great Headphones, Great Sound.

When I purchased my first set of these 'phones, the cables quickly became intermittent. The warranty replacement 'phones soon broke at the cup-head band joint. I would have expected more from a $24.99 headphone. Yes, the headphones were only $24.99...

Cheap Noise Cancelling Headphones

First pair broke within 2 weeks. Replacement pair is dead in the water after 6 months. I should have purchased a better pair... sometimes you do get what yo pay for. This time it was inferior quality at a great price.

Great Deal!

Only $30.00 and they work great! The single AAA battery lasted 20 hours (over and back - USA to Europe) and they still have juice.

I wear these at work over 40-60 hours a week on average. They are a comfortable over ear headset that doesn't squeeze my big head too much. The one negative of these is the swiveling ear cup design that is very weak. I have solved this by using...

Great for what you pay for them!

I have friends with the Bose versions and these sound almost as good at less than half the price. My only complaint is that they are ackward if you pull them off for a moment and try to put them on your neck. For example, when you are boarding the...

Product Specifications

The superb-sounding Altec Lansing AHP712 headphones with Active Noise Reduction are ideal for the frequent traveler and anyone in a noisy environment. Active Noise Reduction technology uses small microphones to "listen" to ambient sounds and special circuitry to create a sound wave 180 degrees out of phase from the ambient sounds. When the sound wave is played through the headphones, it reduces ambient noises, such as airplane engines and subway rumbles, to allow you to focus on your music, movies or games.
