Not to sound like a broken record, but the stock plastic earbuds that came packaged with your shiny new MP3 player aren't doing you any favors. After loading up your device with music, the next thing to do is replace the headphones. Of course, if...

The Altec Lansing MuzxDNA Mesh earphones are supercheap and ultraportable, and they offer plenty of bass. The cable seems reasonably durable for $20 earbuds, and several silicone eartips are included.

The Altec Lansing MuzxDNA Mesh earphones sound muddy and muffled. They may not be comfortable for all users.

The Altec Lansing MuzxDNA Mesh earphones represent an improvement over stock earbuds, but even given the ultralow price, the audio is unimpressive.

Ultimately, the sound is what's really important in choosing headphones, and these just don;t do it. The sound is really tinny, with minimal bass or range. I never thought it would make that mush of a difference, but I found it to be a big step...

The slider used to prevent tangles is a nice touch, and the buds are comfortable in the ears.

The sound is really tinny. I experienced NONE of the alleged big bass as advertised. My iPhone earbuds produce MUCH better sound; I just prefer the softer earpiece, which is why I tried this product.
