Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint

The Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint headphones deliver quality audio in passive and active modes, but noise-cancellation performance is not in line with the price.

Deep bass response, with no distortion at top volumes. Lightweight, comfortable construction. Outputs audio in passive mode. Removable cables—one with inline microphone and remote

Slightly overpriced. Noise cancellation mics sometimes allow low transient sounds into in-ear mix. Doesn't ship with a rechargeable battery

There's no shortage of similar-looking noise-canceling headphones on the market, and the Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint does little to separate itself from the group visually. Sonically, the $349.95 (list) headphones pack powerful bass response,...

Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint® Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Audio Technica's ATH-ANC9 Over-the-Ear Headphones don't have an overly heavy duty look to them, which makes them unassuming and clean looking. But, of course, headphones are about functionality. Read our review to see how they functioned.

Being the Rock guy I am, I always put my stuff through the Rush "Moving pictures" test first. The organic feel of this recording and the minimal amount of instrumentation stepping all over itself usually gives me the most reliable first impression....

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint® Headphones Review

We very much enjoyed the fit and performance of the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 noise cancelling headphones. The tri-level noise cancellation made these adaptable to nearly any environment or situation in which we would want to use these in....

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9

These may not be a fit for audiophiles, but they would work famously on an airplane or subway.

Considering the pitfalls that commonly plague active noise cancellation headphones, these are a solid set of cans.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 Noise-Cancelling Headphone (Playback 59)

has long admired Audio-Technica's ATH-ANC7 and ATH-ANC7b noise-cancelling ‘phones and now the ATH-ANC9 ($349.95) has raised the bar higher still, both in terms of sound quality and flexibility. Before we begin our review of the ATH-ANC9, though, let's...

Reviews: Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Placed next to ATH-ANC7b, ATH-ANC9 looks nearly identical, unless you consider the proportions of metallic and matte black plastic on their earcups to be an important differentiator. This time, Audio-Technica has gone with mostly black earcups to match...

Overall, ATH-ANC9 is another excellent headphone option from Audio-Technica: judged strictly on its own merits, it delivers very good sound and top-shelf noise-canceling for the $300 MSRP—both superior to Bose’s same-priced QuietComfort 15—but with...

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 noise cancelling headphones

These $349 headphones can cancel airplane, office or outside noise

Excellent noise cancelling ; Clear treble and solid bass ; Good construction

Bass and treble suffer when powered off ; Strong clamping force may cause fatigue ; Thin cable

Audio-Technica’s top noise cancelling headphones do an excellent job of blocking outside noise. They also sound musical and detailed, but this is only true when noise cancelling is activated -- with no battery boost they’re flat and lifeless.

Audio Technica ATH-ANC9

A decent noise-cancelling effort from Audio Technica, but there are more effective options

Dynamic performance ; Good energy

Noise-cancelling could be better ; Can get tiring after a while
