Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23

In-ear headphones and the more recently developed “canalphones” deliver amongst the best available passive noise isolation: Pop them in your ears and you might as well be wearing earplugs. It stands to reason, then, that these designs would also be...

Extremely effective noise cancellation ; Open, detailed sound with ample bass ; Comfortable, well-sealed fit ; Very high value

Awkward cable lengths ; Slightly muddy at extreme volumes

Their sonic clarity, strength and agility put the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23 canalphones on par with designer models that cost as much as $300 to $400.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC23 Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones (Playback 41)

Reviewers of audio equipment must, as a matter of necessity, talk about somewhat abstract concepts like “dynamic range.” These terms aren't often very well defined, but are important nonetheless. Dynamic range, which in principle simply defines the...

These $99 earbuds block out external noise and boost your music's quality

Excellent noise cancellation for earbuds ; Good passive noise cancellation

Noise cancellation circuit is heavy ; Ear-buds are comparatively bulky

Audio-Technica has brought the price of noise cancelling earphones sharply down with the ATH-ANC23. These earbuds have decent sound quality and good noise cancellation, although the buds' large size and the heavy weight of the noise cancellation...

Audio Technica ATH-ANC23

The ANC23s are our new favourite pair of headphones, at this point, with excellent sound and a noise-cancelling feature that you don't often find at this price.

Great sound ; Noise-cancelling ; Affordable

QuietPoint box heavy enough to tug buds from your ears ; AAA battery needs replacing

Despite the bulk of the noise-cancelling box, the ANC23s are our new favourite pair of headphones, in this price range. You will have to replace the AAA battery every so often, but it's worth it for the excellent sound Audio-Technica's QuietPoint noise...

Noise cancelling? You've got to be kidding! There is no difference in ambient sound when using the noise cancelling feature alone. There's no difference whether you have the “noise cancelling” feature turned on or off. If these earbuds eliminated a...

Excellent

These earphones feel and sound lot more like studio IEMs than commuter ear-buds. They are remarkably well built and very sturdy. There have been compromises made in comfort and sleekness to accommodate better (and truer) audio reproduction and a tight...

Outstanding audio quality, as is expected from Audio-Technica. Very clear highs and mids ; Bass is tight and sharp rather than boomy and doesn't overpower all other sound bands ; Right-angle gold plated connector with kink proof cover (huge oversight...

These are not the most comfortable earphones. They are fine for up to 4hrs of continuous use, but really start bothering you after that. I would not recommend sleeping in them ; The silicone ear pieces are a little difficult to remove without damaging...
