Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9

I've spent more time flying in the last year than I did over the previous five years combined. During all that time in the air, I've come to notice that a new sort of passenger profile has emerged: The noise-cancelling headphone wearer. These are...

Excellent sound, with or without noise cancelling ; Very comfortable ; Stylish storage case packed with all the right accessories ; Highly effective noise cancellation available in three levels

AAA battery life is short-lived ; Slightly forward upper midrange when noise-cancelling not needed ; Headphone cable smaller than we’d like ; Single-button control

Audio-Technica proves, once again, that its expertise in professional audio lends itself well to excellent headphone design.

Although I don't have experience with a lot of headphones, the sound quality of these are amazing. Works well outputting from a laptop. I haven't used it with my iphone yet. Comes with a nice bag and the plugs are high quality. I'm a little weary about...

Audio Technica ATH-ANC9

The ANC9s sound great, and even better when noise cancelling is active. Memory foam creates a comfortable fit, but it's just a shame that you need to keep AAA batteries handy to get the most of out them.

Excellent, even-handed sound ; Great noise cancelling ; Generous sale pack

Non-rechargeable battery

The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9s are a great-sounding pair of noise-cancelling headphones, but you'll have to keep a packet of AAA batteries handy if you want to get the most out of them. This will gall some music lovers, especially when Audio-Technica is...

Review: Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint

The latest noise-canceling headphones from the Japanese company sports a familiar design but comes with three environment-specific modes and a down-to-earth price.

Three noise-canceling modes; generally pleasing sound quality; plays without batteries; great build quality; reasonably priced in Singapore

Some types of music sound a little dry and flat; most aggressive noise-canceling mode can uncomfortable; thin headband and heavy earcups aren't the best combination

Audio-Technica has created a compelling pair of over-the-ear noise-cancelers in the ATH-ANC9. It sounds good across many genres of music, plays without a battery and feels like it should last a while, too. With a S$358 price tag in Singapore (they have...
