Bose AE2

Meet the AE2, an entry-level option from Bose. Despite the brand recognition and reputation of Bose, these headphones fall flat in performance for their price range. With a poor frequency response and some distortion issues, they may not be a good fit...

Overall, the Bose AE2s aren’t a bad entry-level bet, but you can definitely do better no matter what you’re looking for in headphones. The cost is a little hard to swallow for the performance they give, but if you can find them for cheaper than MSRP,...

Bose AE2

In the headphone realm, Bose is probably best known for its noise-canceling (NC) line of QuietComfort models. But it's long made some non-NC models, including an around-the-ear design as well as an on-ear design. Bose has shortened those names to AE...

Lightweight and comfortable design; sealed earcups isolate wearer from ambient noise; headphones fold flat; detachable cord; detailed sound with well-defined bass.

Sound can be a tad brash.

If you can't afford Bose's noise-canceling models, the Bose AE2s--and their improved design and sound quality--make for a good alternative at half the price.

Bose AE2 Headphones

Maxell’s Encore EN-5 offer a rich, full sound for an affordable price, beating out nearly all of the headphones in the test. However, our testers didn’t think they were very comfortable, nor did this pair do a good job staying put during use....

nbsp ; Excellent sound quality ; Adjustable ; Can withstand multiple drops ; Water-resistant ; Light weight and wraps up tightly for easy portability

nbsp ; Didn’t take much force to remove the headphones during our force test ; Consumer testers didn’t find them very comfortable to wear for long periods of time ; Didn’t always stay put during use for our consumer testers

"Garbage. Can I give zero stars?"

Don't waste your money or your time. Move on to another product. Your music will sound better if you listened through a soup can on a string.

Feels nice on the head, decent passive noise cancelling from the ear cup

Sound quality was awful, misses a wide range of sound frequency

"Clear, Crisp and Balanced. The essential key."

What I cannot stand are the reviews of people who complain about the bass issue. As a musician and a lover of a wide pallet of music, I understand (musically), that bass is only supposed to accompany music, bring up the melody where the mids and highs...

Clear, Balanced audio that makes music worth listening to.

Packaging insane to open.

"Super Comfortable Quality Headphones"

I did a lot of research into headphones and, despite some mixed reviews, I had decided to buy these. The main reason was I had tried them on in store and was seduced by how comfortable they were. However, just as I had made my decision I stumbled...

Amazingly comfortable, light, great sound quality.

Pathetic nylon carry bag. If they can include a nice hard case for the OE2 then why not for these?

"Bose Is Beautiful"

Crisp, super clean sound with a bass that's not overbearing; those who prefer a heavier, thumping bass can adjust their equalizer settings.

Incredibly detailed sound rendering across all genres of music.

Classical music sounds ever so slightly bright to my ear.

"BUY THEM AND IT'LL BE YOUR LAST BOSE PRODUCT."

SOUND IS ok.

BUILD QUALITY IS AS CHEAP AS POSIBLE. THEY FEEL AND LOOK CHEAP. They Bose printed letters fade away in two weeks after buy them. Quality is like 10 dollars headphones, maybe worst.

"Great Headphones"

I think bose has done a good job and i would recommend these headphones to anyone who has the pocket and mind to buy them. They are much better than beats in tone quality of the highs but keep steady with beats on the lows too. They are a good knock...

Good mix of sounds from low bass to high trebles. Long wire for when you're moving around (can be a con also). Light fit design. Nice folding in cups.

Little fragile
