Bose SoundTrue Around-Ear review: A classic headphone gets a cosmetic upgrade

Could it be that Bose is trying to get hipper as it heads into its sixth decade of making products?

Lightweight and comfortable design; sealed earcups isolate the wearer from ambient noise; headphones fold flat; detachable cord; detailed sound with well-defined bass.

Sound can be a tad brash.

While the Bose SoundTrue has only minor design changes from the earlier AE2i, it remains one of the most comfortable-to-wear, full-size headphones, and it also sounds good.

Bose SoundTrue Around-Ear ( Black)

That's what it seems like if you examine some of its latest moves, which include putting a fresh, more modern face with bolder colors on some of its established headphone models that have been in the line for a number of years.

Bose SoundTrue (Around-Ear)

The Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones offer a solid audio experience and a comfortable fit, but otherwise don't stand out against the plethora of excellent options in this price range.

Strong audio performance with rich bass, crisp highs, and no distortion. Exceptionally comfortable, lightweight fit. Detachable cable with inline remote and microphone for mobile devices

Light on accessories. Sculpted sound not for purists. Not quite enough sub-bass for low-end fans

The new Bose SoundTrue around-ear headphones are a no-nonsense, music-only pair with few bells or whistles—like many of Bose's other products, such as the Editors' Choice, noise-cancelling QuietComfort 20. The SoundTrue retails for $179.95, much less...

Bose SoundTrue review

Stylish over-ear headphones that simply cost too much

Sleek design ; Comfy and lightweight ; Inline controls and mic

Excessively long cord ; Weak mids ; Too costly

If you're in the market for a set of over-ear headphones that are cozy as all get-out, you've found your match. However, if industry-leading sound performance is your priority, you can get more for your money elsewhere.

Bose SoundTrue Headphones Review-A trendy pair with same robust sound

SoundTrue is the new colorful experiment that Bose has successfully used to win hearts (or ears) with the same robust sound and comfort.

Great build quality ; Comfortable for long wear ; Adapts dutifully to equalizer changes

Pricey ; Not foldable

SoundTrue is another pricey but worthy headphones from Bose that checks every quality and utility marker you can ask for in a headphone. Without getting bulky, they stay over the ears, bringing them in and sealing them away from the outside world;...

"Pretty darn good"

I received these headphones from my wife for my birthday this year. She did her research and these were the best fit for my all-day headphone wearing binges. Man did she do a good job. I have been very happy with the sound quality. The treble is just...

lightweight, no ear fatigue, even sound, bright highs

"Light weight, comfortable and good sound"

I have had these headphones for around a month now and I have to say that I am very happy with them. I got a decent price on them even though they are more expensive than I ever thought that I'd spend on a pair of headphones to listen to web/computer...

The sound is fine for listening to web audio. They are the most comfortable headphones and well made

Not inexpensive. iPhone controls a little too close to the left ear cup, so I cannot see the buttons when I wear them
