Dragon V2

The Callpod Dragon V2 ($100 as of December 1, 2008) looks and feels unlike any other Bluetooth headset we tested in our latest roundup: It's big and round, and to me it felt a bit like an oversize clip-on button earring.

Unique design Ear-wear extras, car charger, carrying pouch

Poor sound quality overall Heavy

The V2 comes in three color varieties: black/titanium silver, black chrome, and carbon fiber

Review: Callpod Dragon V2

Callpod's first Bluetooth headset was a little troubled. Yeah, yeah — the jaw dropping 100-meter range and walkie-talkie feature was cool. But the persistent echo...

Class 1 Bluetooth rating provides exceptional range. Easy-to-navigate controls and layout. Ships with car charger, wall charger, case, and USB cable. Metal/rubber ear hook is a breeze to adjust. Sports firmware upgrades via USB cable. Great battery...

Weak mic placement makes clear outgoing audio an ongoing battle. Priced more for features rather than quality. Volume rocker feels both loose and flimsy. Mediocre noise canceling in windy conditions

Callpod Dragon V2 review: Callpod Dragon V2

When we first tried the Callpod Dragon last year, we mentioned that it had a remarkably snug and comfortable fit, perhaps the most snug of all the Bluetooth headsets we've tried. Well, Callpod wanted to improve upon that by introducing the Callpod...

The Callpod Dragon V2 Bluetooth headset has a comfortable fit, simple controls, and a wide connection range of up to 100 meters. It features multidevice pairing as well as walkie-talkie functionality with other Dragon V2s.

The Callpod Dragon V2 is a bit less snug than the original, and we found the power/volume control wheel sometimes rubbed against the ear. You need to align the two microphones exactly in a straight line with the mouth or outgoing sound quality will be...

The Callpod Dragon V2 is a Bluetooth headset with a unique array of features as well as a form-fitting design, but it takes awhile to wear it properly.

Review: Callpod Dragon V2 Class 1 Bluetooth 2.0 Headset

Shaped like a hockey puck and larger than many of the Bluetooth headsets we've recently tested, Dragon V2 uses its unusually large, plastic shell to house an eight-hour battery, dual microphones that promise noise suppression, and a Class 1 Bluetooth...

Apart from this, Dragon V2 has little else that would even modestly interest us. The shape, size, look, and static of this earpiece are so sub-optimal that we wouldn't want to wear it around, and the sound quality so roundly disappointed our callers...

Callpod Dragon V2 Bluetooth Headset Lightning Review

The Gadget: The Dragon Bluetooth headset from Callpod gets redesigned, with improved incoming and outgoing call quality, two new exterior finishes and a pivoting ear hook.

says is great only when you perfectly line it up with your mouth, but we had no problems no matter how we adjusted the headset. Old features like walkie-talkie mode (pair this headset with another Dragon and you can have chats sans cellphone) and a 100...

Besides a cool name, the Dragon V2 also has some cool features not available on other handsfree headsets.

In this handsfree world, you can't spit on the street without soaking a headset. At a time when most companies are coming out with ever more stylish takes on the exact same gadget, the latest version of Callpod's Dragon V2 headset stands out, thanks to...
