Cardo Scala 700 Bluetooth Headset Review and Prices

The Cardo Scala 700 offers very impressive performance and a few handy extras. There are two features that set the Scala 700 apart from other products: battery performance and a headset locator. While most Bluetooth headsets will give you a few hours...

Works fine

At Newegg's price I now have some spares and losing one is not so tramatic or costly.

I originally purchased two of these from a big box store discounter for my wife and I 9 months ago. The price was 5 times the current price on Newegg. We both thought they worked fine. Never had any dropped calls and they stayed connected. She lost...

Not so great

Microphone lets in lots of ambient noise ; forget talking outside or in a car, it sounds like a wind tunnel

You get what you paid for.

If you're an occasional user and looking for something basic and don't expect much from it, this is for you. However, this performs poorly in any "stressful" (background noise, more than 5 feet, rough user, etc) conditions. Get something better, and...

Cheap. Light. Gets the job done in a basic sense. Button scheme is straightforward and intuitive. Nothing sticking into your ear is better for comfort

In the presence of background noise (driving, loud street), does very poorly. The fact that it doesn't stick in your ear means it's hard to hear people speaking softly. Difficult to adjust to get the right comfortability. Degrades to garbage after you...

Product Specifications

The scala-700 headset offers the best of all worlds: lightweight and stylish, yet feature-rich and user friendly. It includes all of the advanced features one would expect in a Bluetooth headset, such as voice dial and re-dial, call waiting, conference calling, call reject, and wind and noise reduction, plus unique features that set it apart from other headsets. Toggle between two active phones: SWAP Technology allows users to easily switch the headset's connection between paired mobile phones at the touch of a button. As wireless headsets become smaller, the more comfortable and natural they are to wear. But small items often get lost among the clutter of an office, in a desk, or in clothing. So, a buzzing locator device was added. Users need only to press a button on their mobile phones to activate the locator, which initiates a series of audible tones from the headset until it has been found. Just like a mobile phone, a wireless headset too should indicate its charging status. The scala-700 does just that: with a press of a button, the scala-700's LEDs instantly display whether it's fully charged (blue), half charged (blue and red) or in immediate need for recharging (red). The scala-700 not only delivers a rich feature set, but offers extremely clear audio, even under noisy background conditions. The device's six-level volume range, speaker booster and echo-cancellation technology further enhance the headset's superb audio quality.
