Corsair HS1A Review

Corsair- a name that conjures images not only of the style of ship, but also of exploration into strange and unknown lands. It is a name that brings intense feelings of wonder and exhilaration that come with the discovery of those unexplored paradises....

Sturdy construction ; Comfortable, even after lengthy usage ; Second set of earpads provided

Necessary lack of Dolby Headphone technology ; Not the best for music, again ; Overshadowed by HS1 ; Price

Disregarding Dolby Headphone for a moment, Corsair's second headset, apart from some negligible, minor differences, is identical to the HS1. Overall this is a good thing, because the HS1 is hugely comfortable and constructed very well. The quality that...

Overall high quality headset

Highly recomend

These headphones have nice sound and are comfortable to wear, as previous reviews have stated. The best feature in my mind is how easy these are to store - they fold up neatly and can be thrown right into my bag

No major flaws

Dissapointing

Left side stopped working after about a month of use. I took very good care of these, hanging them on a hook when i wasn't wearing them. Break seemed to happen where the chord connects to the headset. Sad though, probably one of my favorite headsets...

VERY comfortable, very easy to forget you're wearing them ; Also very large, cover's my entire ear ; Mic quality is good

Quiet. Always have to turn my sound down if/when i switch to ear buds

Corsair Primal Gaming Audio HS1A 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset

I have owned several pairs of headsets, from $150 DJ Sony headsets, a 70$ pair of Bosh, to Razer Carcharias. These have the best quality and comfort of all of them, while still being sturdier and nearly same ease of transportation as the Sony headset. ...

High quality sound for both gaming and audio usage ; Comfortable, sturdy, and easy to transport ; Long cable with volume and mic control ; Easy installation (no additional software required) ; Good price for quality received

Long cable makes it easy to trip on. (not the fault of the product) ; Price can be more than most casual gamer or audio enthusiasts are comfortable with

Frustrating

I actually wouldnt buy this headset again. In and of itself its fine. Build quality is good. The mic is good sound is good. Though it lacks something in the liking department its a fine headset nothing more.

The headset itself if good the sound is superb, and the Mic is superb

Headset broke after only 3 weeks of use. The mic ceases to work... I owned a previous Plantronics 777 and It lasted for almost a year. This is highly disappointed. I'm in the process of setting up a RMA if the freaking logitech site would work

ALMOST works with realtek onboard

Overall, Corsair really should have thought to make these headphones properly compatible with onboard sound and the like, even if it was just an in-line, battery powered amplifier. I'm knocking an egg off for their lack of foresight there, but in all...

Built like a truck ; Braided chord ; Comfortable beyond all belief ; Outstanding sound quality with a proper sound card ; Bass hits hard and clean ; Mids and highs are crisp ; Microphone is fantastic ; For the money, if you have a decent sound card,...

Sound quality with onboard sound, unmodified, is disgustingly awful ; Sound quality with realtek's digital EQ tweaking is fair, but still not acceptable

Corsair Primal Gaming Audio HS1A 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Gaming Headset

The bass isn't boosted like most other headsets. It's fine though. You can always tweak if needed.

Nice headset ; Very comfortable for a big head

None really

Alright

I got these after the mic on my Sound Blaster Tactic3D Sigma broke. The mic on this one is vastly superior but the sound is not as good (see cons).

Okay sound. Mic sounds good

Sound is lacking in bass. Really makes everything sound like you're in a tincan. Ear padding will easily wear out
