Final Audio Design Sonorous III review: Japanese headphones with an understated design and sweet tonal response

If Final Audio Design's $5,000 flagship headphone is totally out of the question, the Sonorous III is a wallet-friendly alternative that sounds just as sweet.

Final Audio Design's Sonorous III's dynamic driver will refresh your appreciation for high-resolution audio files, but its low-impedance spec makes it sound great with streaming audio files on your phone too. The plush synthetic leather covering the...

The headphones are heavier than the average over-ear set and lack a case for protected storage.

The Final Audio Design Sonorous III exceeded our expectations for comfort and audio quality and serve as an excellent introduction to the brand at an affordable cost.

Final Sonorous III

The Final Sonorous III are huge over-ear headphones. They're the younger sibling to the super-expensive Sonorous X.

Rich, spacious-sounding headphones that are held back by a lack of discipline in the lower frequencies.

Final Sonorous III review

These engrossing headphones are far from sleep inducing

Sweet midrange ; Open and focused sound ; Clever design principles

Can’t quite organise a rhythm as well as we’d like

Some areas of unarguable expertise, but not quite the all-round game to fully justify the price

Final Audio Design Sonorous III review

The Final Audio Design Sonorous III are no slouch for sound. At £299 the headphones are expensive, but with fantastic sonic capabilities and design the Sonorous III are cans to be admired. Read our review to find out how they compare to competitors.

If you're looking for a set of headphones to use at home, the Final Audio Design Sonorous III provides fantastic sonic capabilities, while also incorporating good looking design. They are very heavy though and thin headband padding makes them...

Final Audio Sonorous III Headphones Review

Final Audio Design started out manufacturing speakers for flat-screen TVs. They've since evolved and become one of the biggest names in the Head-Fi market. We take a closer look at the Sonorous III closed-back headphones.

A well-priced mid-fi offering for those looking for a unique pair of easy to drive headphones. They present a mid-heavy sound signature with no offensive treble spikes.
