Made me a Grado Fan

I had a hard time deciding between this and the RS1i. Ended up taking a risk with PS500, and I\'m happy to say that I don\'t have to look back. Both PS500 and RS1i sounds great and are easy to drive (while RS1i is definitely more colored and maybe...

Grado PS-500 Stereo Headphone Review

I have several headphones besides the PS-500, and I\'ve reviewed some of them, so I should find it easy to describe the PS-500, yes? Maybe not. By now I\'ve discovered that my "other" headphones fall into the category of "polite" ear speakers....

Grado PS500 Headphone Reviews

The Grado PS-500 has a very smooth, even, and detailed sound from the lower mids on up, having only the lower-mids/upper bass emphasis of about 4 db to add warmth to the sound. The standout character of the PS-500 is the amazing realism of instrument...

Grado PS500 - £700

Straight from Brooklyn, New York, comes the brand new Grado PS500 headphone. Richard Black lives the American dream…

Beautifully detailed sound that’s rich in frequency extremes

Supra-aural construction may not be comfortable on all heads

A classy transducer that’s well balanced in every sense

Grado PS500

A third the price of the exceptional Grado PS1000, these headphones deliver more than 1/3 the performance.

Exceptional sound quality ; Competitvely priced for their sound quality ; Solidly built ; Open-back design creates open, spacious sound

On-ear design becomes uncomfortable ; Headband lacks padding ; Not exactly stylish ; Open-back design means you need a quiet enviroment to listen

Terminating the cable is a quality gold plated 1/4inch (6.35mm) jack. Disappointingly you don't get a converter for a smaller 1/8in jack in the box, unlike with the PS1000, which is an annoyance for those wanting to use these headphones with an mp3...

Grado PS500 review

There's no escaping from the fact that the Grado PS500 headphones are an expensive set, but then this is no ordinary set of headphones. Part of the company's professional series, they're designed to produce stunning audio quality from all sources.

Detailed and incredible sound that can't be beaten at the price, although they're not ideal for commuting

Dynamic cans with strong basslines and great rhythm to keep you entertained

Open and informative; determined bass; great timing; fun-sounding

Not the most luxurious build; could do with a touch refinement; leak a lot of sound
