Klipsch Image S4i Review

Magnificent headphones can transform everyday listening sessions into mystical experiences: Like a two-way conversation with God—or watching the Lakers lose in the finals. Klipsch has produced some of our favorite speaker systems, but we would never...

Auditioning Klipsch’s Image S4i earbuds was an absolute thrill. They revealed incredibly subtle elements of recordings we’d never picked up before, ranging from crowd comments on live recordings to discovering there are two Pauls and no Johns on...

Klipsch Image S3m Review

Say you're headed out on a trip, but you've lost the headphones that came with your phone (or maybe you just can't stand them any more) and those throw-away ‘buds you picked up at the airport last trip…well, you probably threw them away. You need...

Good clarity and instrumental separation ; Decent low end power ; Cool, comfortable design

Extremely sharp upper register ; Anemic midrange

Unless you like your cymbals super spicy, and sibilants with a serpentine flare, we recommend you keep on looking. We will too.

Klipsch Image X7i

Klipsch's Image X7i earphones deliver a compelling audio experience that preserves flat response without sacrificing bass, in a lightweight, ceramic design.

Excellent audio performance with rich bass, crisp highs. Tiny, lightweight ceramic design with a secure fit. Inline microphone and remote for mobile devices

Shirt clip might be occasionally necessary to tone down cable thump

Klipsch's earphone line has had some gems in the past, so it's nice to see the consistency upheld. At $199.99 (direct), the Klipsch Image X7i is an investment, but it's a winner, boasting an excellent sound signature aimed at audiophiles who want flat...

Klipsch Image X7i (Black)

Over the years, Klipsch's Image S4 line of sub-$100 earphones has received very positive reviews from CNET editors. The newer S4 II , S4i II (for iOS devices), and S4A II (for Android devices) look and sound the same as the original S4 but have a new...

The comfortable Klipsch Image X7i in-ear headphones have sleek and durable ceramic earpieces, offer good, clean sound with lots of detail, and feature the same tangle-resistant flat cord found on the step-down S4i II model. An integrated Apple-friendly...

Bass lovers probably won't be satisfied by the amount of bass; inline-remote features aren't compatible with most non-Apple smartphones.

While their price is a little too steep, the X7i earphones are slick-looking and comfortable, and deliver clean, detailed sound.

Klipsch Image S4i II ( Black)

Combining a comfortable fit with excellent sound for the money, Klipsch's original Image S4 and S4i earphones have long been among our favorites here at CNET. But the one knock against them is that they just don't hold up that well over time, a...

The Klipsch Image S4i II in-ear headphones have the same impressive sound and fit as the original S4i model but they're more durable and have a tangle-resistant flat cord. There's an integrated Apple-friendly remote/microphone and they come with a...

Opt for other models in the S4 line if you want Android compatibility or better sweat resistance; bass lovers probably won't be satisfied by the amount of bass.

The Klipsch Image S4i II in-ear headphones add a new, more durable tangle-resistant flat cord while retaining the S4 model's very respectable sound quality and superior comfort.

Klipsch Image S4A for Android (Black)

The Image S4A Headphones for Android join a solid pack of headphones in Klipsch's S4 product catalog, beginning with the original Image S4 in-ear headphones , followed by the S4i headphones for iOS devices . The S4A are the company's first earbuds...

The Klipsch S4A Headphones for Android earn our favor with powerful 8.5mm drivers, comfortable ear tips, and an accompanying Android app that smartphone owners can use to remap the in-line remote controls.

The headphones perform inconsistently on devices running Android 2.1 and lower.

Klipsch's ultracomfortable, noise-isolating ear tips are just one of the reasons I love and recommend the S4-series headphones. If you're an Android user shopping for a new pair of earbuds, the Image S4A headphones are definitely worth the $99.

Klipsch Image S4

Editors' note: As of August 2012, the Klipsch Image S4s reviewed here have been replaced by the Klipsch Image S4 IIs .

The Klipsch Image S4 earphones offer exceptional sound quality for the money. They're also very comfortable and come with a few handy extras such as a storage box and cleaning tool.

The cable of the Image S4 earphones doesn't seem very durable, and the included eartips may not work for everyone.

The Klipsch Image S4 earphones offer up sound quality on par with and better than sets that cost many times as much; they are a spectacular choice for anyone looking for new earbuds.

Klipsch Image

Klipsch's first entry into the headphone market gets a lot of help from the fact that it's marketed as “the world's smallest high-performance earphones.” They are indeed impressively small and lightweight — each earbud takes up less than two hundredths...

Extremely comforable; good bass and sonic detail; cabling designed to prevent tears

Expensive; you can hear cable thump when walking or running

The world's smallest earbuds prove that less costs more, but these smartly designed cans are worth it.

Klipsch Image X7i Ceramic Headphones Preview

Klipsch just announced the launch of the Image X7i, the company's first-ever ceramic headphone. Ceramic is an unusual material for a headphone, but there is a lot here that makes sense.

Klipsch Image Earphones Review

The Klipsch Image earphones are proported to be the "world's smallest high performance earphones," and there is no doubt that they are unlike anything I have seen. I remember seeing them at CEDIA

Excellent noise isolation ; Amazing bass extension ; Incredibly small, lightweight and comfortable

Expensive ; Higher priced than an iPod Touch ; Only available in black

There were actually times while listening to the Klipsch Image earphones that I could swear I felt a kick drum in my chest, much like I would while listening to large speakers paired with a great subwoofer. That is how great the low end is on these...
