JVC HA-M5X

Far better than most under-$50 headphones and a major upgrade over Apple earbuds. Handles heavy bass at high volumes without distorting

Design is a bit over-the-top. Not terribly comfortable for long listening periods

If you can get past the too-flashy design, audio performance from the $50 JVC HA-M5X headphones exceeds expectations.

The JVC HA-M5Xs are a pair of relatively inexpensive over-ears that come packaged like most plastic toys do: in a clear plastic clamshell that is impossible to open without a knife. Despite some disappointing audio quality results and a design more...

The JVC HA-M5Xs are a little disappointing in performance, but not irredeemably so.

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

While it’s plain to see that the JVC HA-M5Xs are by no means studio headphones, but they aren’t going to leave you with an empty feeling that you’ve gotten ripped off if you pick them up either. Despite their bland design and mediocre-to-bad frequency...

Aggressive-looking headphones, aggressively priced.

Wide sound ; Can sound great with sufficient EQ

Unbalanced sound ; Lack treble sparkle ; Not that comfortable ; Significant sound leakage

The JVC HAM5X Xtreme Xplosives Around Ear are basic headphones, with little need for accessories. The 1.2m cable ends in a 3.5mm jack, and is home to neither handsfree kit nor remote control. There's no case supplied, but at the low price it's not...

I use these for everything from voice chat to gaming to music. Excellent for all applications. Recently, I dropped them and they dented my wall. Suffered no damage. Also, they really can get your ears shaking all the way down to 7 Hz without...

Beautiful sound quality, amazing bass and infrasound, solid construction, super comfortable

Heavy, but I hardly notice it anymore

Big physical size but big sound too

If your looking for a cheap pair of good bass headphones then i highly recommend them

I have just received them today and they have great sound. to me it isnt as flat as some people say. nice high's, not extremely high and crisp but definitely not bad or even close to. and the bass which is the focal point of these headphones is...

The only con i see is that they are huge and bulky. but they do make up for it with sound quality

Not bad

I'd recommend them if someone wanted a good pair of headphones in this price range

Good price ; extraordinarily sturdy construction, better than most headphones in the 100+ dollar range ; great frequency range, about the best you'll find in this range

response isn't as flat as I'd like it to be, there's a noticeable spike around the 45-100 Hz range and a little bit of sibilance in the higher ranges. First impression I thought it sounded distant but I got over that pretty quickly ; It's a little...

These headphones are a great value for the price and perform way better than expected. They pump bass and have excellent highs as well. Crisp, clean music coming through the way it was recorded.

great sound

blocks out surrounding sounds. Great sound! It is however a little heavy on the head. Other than that, I would recommend them.
