JVC HA-NC120 review

 

We don't expect to have to read the manual for a pair of headphones, but JVC's HA-NC120 had us doing just that. The noise-cancelling electronics are powered by the supplied AAA battery, but the compartment inside the right earphone is slightly too well...

A classy design but it’s worth paying more for increased high-frequency clarity.

I am definitely not an audiophile, and I think the sound quality is decent, but nothing to write home about. The retractable cord and adapter for airplane use are good features. I gave these as a Christmas gift, and my Dad loves them.

I tried them myself once, and I can definitely hear a faint hiss in the background when the noise cancellation is switched on. Construction seems flimsier than I would have hoped for at this price point. As one other reviewer noted, the cord is...

Exactly what I was looking for

 

I bought these to drown out A/C and neighbor noise when I need to work in a cubicle environment. Turn on the music, and these headphones do the job! I'm happy with this purchase! I'd do it again.

Comfortable, easy to use, retractable cable, nice pouch provided for transport. This level of noise cancellation is perfect for my office situation.

The cord feels a little thin, but no problems yet.

Comfy fit, clean sound. Noise cancelling could be better, but overall very happy! Great value for money. At more than half the cost of many competitors, I'm sure I don't own a product which is half as good or that makes me half as happy as others...

What noise cancellation?

 

These headphones do not do "what they say on the tin". Whilst I appreciate that they are cheaper than Bose, etc, they simply do not reduce the background noise by the amount promised on the packaging. Very disappointing.
