I have owned one of these for several years and found the volume excellent and the reception crystal clear but only when not obstructed from the transmitter antenna. Anything between you and the antenna static occurs. So laying in bed with your knees...

The headset had a lot noise in them and unless you were directly in front of the set it was hard to hear. I may of gotten a bad set. I know the rca set I have a sony set a friend has are both as clear as a bell you don't have the interference at all.

Very comfortable fit and easy set up. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the maximum volume is not what I expected. There seems to be a limit on it, even with my receiver amp turned up. My previous Jensen wireless headphones allowed more...
