Philips SHE9850 In-ear Headphones

Despite the model name, Philips isn't marketing its SHE9850 In-Ear Headphones to women only. These comfortable $99.99 earphones certainly aren't bass-heavy, but they offer a reasonable amount of low-end presence. There's a bit of brightness missing...

Affordable. Commendable low-end performance. Excellent fit.

Not the crispest treble response.

Philips's affordable SHE9850 earphones fit well and offer decent low-end response.

Philips SHE-9850

Philips is no stranger to the headphone market, mostly turning out a line of inexpensive earbuds in the $5 to $25 range. Now, the company is stepping up its game with the SHE-9850 In-Ear Headphones, a $100 pair with a sleek and comfy design and good...

The Philips SHE-9850 offer solid sound quality, a sleek design, a comfortable fit, and handy extras.

The Philips SHE-9850's bass response is mushy at times.

The Philips SHE-9850 In-Ear Headphones are an excellent choice for style-conscious listeners who demand comfort and detailed audio response.

Philips SHE9850

Designed with classical, jazz and blues listening in mind, the SHE9850 headphones are part of Philips' new line of in-ear monitors.

Clear sweet highs, great detail, wide soundstage

Bass a little uncontrolled, short cord

Philips' SHE9850 headphones are another strong entry into the mid-range IEM space. Their bass could be a little punchier and more controlled, but for the price these IEMs offer a clear, smooth and well-balanced sound.

Time for a headphone upgrade?

That Christmas morning joy of breaking into the box is all here and interestingly, once you are inside the package the message reads "Only feel the music". Unfortunately, we could feel every footstep, every cough, every chew of the apple.

These earphones do a good job at a low price point

Great looks, solid performance

No high fidelity to be found here

They're a bit of a bargain then – for the price you get a lot. And that's because they're aimed at people who're fed up with the dreadful earbuds provided with iPods and other MP3 players. They're a massive step up in that respect

Philips SHE9850 Noise Isolating Earphones

Klipsch recently gave Shure's SE420's a run for their money. Now Philips is here to do the same thing to the SE310's.

As Riyad observed when he compared the Shure SE420's and the Klipsch Custom-3's, if you leave pricing out of the equation then the choice is all about how you prefer to listen to your music. Shure, with the SE310's, has the edge when it comes to...

Philips SHE9850 sound-isolating earphones review

An excellent all-rounder, with good detail, a balanced, warm sound and superb comfort and fit. Deeper bass and brighter treble exists in competing models, but for almost all genres of music and in most listening environments, the SHE9850s will impress...

General sound quality ; Warm tone ; Great comfort ; Good sound isolation ; Snug and secure ; Suitable for gym use

Lack of deep bass ; Less inspiring treble performance

If you want deep, ultra-low bass for dance music, check out Denon's AH-C551s and Sennheiser's CX 95s. If that sparkling treble and brightness is your poison, consult Etymotic's ER-6is. But for almost all types of music, the SHE9850s get a thumbs up...

There's better at this kind of money

Good detail in the presentation, good build, comfortable

Painfully trebly, sound is brittle and grinds after a short period
