Philips SHN 9500 Review

Unsuitable for music enthusiasts / Boomy bass, recessed mid-range, rolled off top-end / Noticeable lack of depth and emotiveness to the music / Possible headband clamping issue for some

While not dethroning Bose as the kings of active noise cancelling headphones, Philips' SHN9500 offers a good alternative by combining both good quality audio with impressive noise cancelling.

Good sound quality, isolation works well

Bass heavy sound not suited to all listeners, a little flimsy

Enjoy the sound of silence when everything around is noise

Works reasonably well

Average amplifier

The end result isn't quite as impressive as one might hope for. Good results in passive mode, but expensive

Good sound quality. Blocks external noise well. ”

Good sound quality. Noise isolation works well. It makes for enjoyable commutes on public transportation. It's easy to doze off in a LazyBoy with these on your head.  Sounds are clear in active noise-cancelling mode. Too much volume can be painful.  It...
