Plantronics DSP-500 USB review

While Plantronics hopes to woo the lower end of the market with its Audio range of headsets, it also wants the top end to shortlist its more advanced units. The current top of the range unit is the DSP-500 that comes with its own built-in soundcard for...

Good cans, bypassing the soundcard

Less bass than the Audio 90s; Sennheisers cheaper

For £10 less you can now get the Sennheiser PC155s whose USB interface is optional not compulsory, and get superior headphones.

Great, Clear Sound

Much better than the Logitech 350s. Extremely durable. Excellent USB headphones for everything multimedia.

Comfortable; Unlike other USB headsets I've tried I can turn up the volume and get clear sound; Lets me hear everything going on around the map

In Unreal Tournament 2004 there is no way to tell between up/down/same level. It sounds like things are right in behind me sometimes but are actually above/below (mainly on the map "Campgrounds"). Sounds GREAT on DVD/DIVX/XVID

You get exactly what you pay for.

Sound quality is great. Mic is very sensitive and records voice clearly. Have not had a problem with voice chat in DDO. Comfortable to wear for extended periods of time

Not cheap =)

Wow! I finally bought this headst, and let me tell you, it's like hearing a computer for the first time. The sound is incedable, the mic is perfect. I've never really heard myself in that high quality. I play cs, and man, its like being in the game,...

Get them, now. I had to buy mine elsewhere because Newegg kept selling out of them :(

This is by far the best headset I've ever used. Opened them up, plugged them in, everything set itself up in about 5 seconds and they were working. The best thing about these for me is I didn't need to buy a new good sound card, (my onboard sound...

Best Headset I Ever Owned

If you buy any other headset you made a mistake

Very comfortable - You can wear it for hours without feeling it ; Crystal Clear Sound - Amazing high definition sound ; Uses USB instead of the speaker and mic ports which opens those ports for you to use

Nothing yet

Comfortable to wear

Right when I got it, any sound I play, any music I listen to, and any sounds in game I hear, there is static and popping noises. Poor headset

Top of the Line

I love these headsets by plantronics and I'm going to be myself another pair right now. These are some of the cheapest prices you will ever find for the headset. Also make sure to buy the protection warrenty through

I've had this headset for about the time it has come out and it just broke down on me after liek 4ish year because my friend pulled the cord out of it. Its sooo great for gaming like Counter-Strike, World of War Craft, Quake 4. Great for noisey lans...

warrenty issues, no clue what the company will do about it. They still havn't sent me any word of them going to fix it ; If you don't like sensitive mics becareful of this, it will pick up just about any noise but thats adjustable

Freaking Awesome

This headset is awesome, it's the best one I have had. It rivals 5.1 sound systems pretty well, and you can barely feel them unless you concentrate on it.

Extremely comfortable, I sometimes forget they're even on me. Sound quality is awesome, not quite 5.1, but pretty close. Nice long cable. I like how the mic can rotate up so its not always in front of your face. Mic quality is also really nice

Had a mild pain in my left inner ear for like couple days of use, now its gone. Gets a little pinchy after like 12 hours of continuous use
