RHA MA450i

You're not likely to find a sonic masterpiece in the $50 earphone realm, but one company is at least raising the bar significantly higher. At $49.95 (list), RHA's MA450i is the second offering from the manufacturer in the last year to exceed our...

Quality audio performance for the price, with no distortion on deep bass at top volumes. Inline remote and microphone for Apple iOS devices. Comes with several ear tip options

Can sound overly bright, occasionally even piercing, at moderate to high volumes

RHA's MA450i earphones deliver distortion-free audio that is occasionally too bright, but are a good deal at $50.

RHA MA450i Review

Our first exposure to RHA headphones came around this time last year, when a pair of the SA-850 on-ear headphones showed up at our desk. While a strong effort for $80, the SA-850 didn't quite resonate with us. The diamond-shaped stitching on the...

Excellent bass and midrange response ; Wide selection of eartips ; Very lightweight ; Highly sensitive

Aggressive and often harsh treble response ; Piercing at high volumes

RHA gets seriously close to redefining what can be done at that price point with the MA450i. Were it not for our considerable trepidation over their treble (it’s a deal-breaker for us) ,we’d offer an additional point to our score.

RHA MA450i in-ear budget headphones review

The MA450i isn't the cheapest pair of headphones you can buy, but you get indisputable benefits for the extra money. Good design, plenty of features and great quality – all without breaking the bank.

Brit-designed machined aluminium earphones.

Fun bass response ; Hardy aluminium buds ; Generous tips bundle

Some top-end harshness

These let you take calls, control music playback and volume with iPhones and iPodx. The middle button has a finger-hugging dip in the middle, making blind operation easy. And although it's a little larger than some, its all-plastic construction means...

Satisfying dynamics and rhythm, but tiring to listen to

Good insight ; satisfying dynamics and rhythm

Harsh and tiring to listen to

RHA MA450i: Sound quality Things don’t improve even with extensive running-in. This is a shame, because otherwise the MA450is are accomplished earphones.

RHA MA450i Earphones Review

Back in January, we took a look at RHA's SA950i headphones and were thoroughly impressed by their design and performance. Now we are looking at RHA's MA450i earphones to see if they can offer simila...

Very good audio playback performance ; Strong bass ; High volume levels ; Seven unique silicone ear-tips ; Comfortable ; In-line microphone and remote ; 3 year warranty

Cable can cause additional, ‘rogue’, noise to enter the audio ; Attaching the ear-tips is a difficult procedure

KitGuru says: Deep bass, a wide variety of tones, and a thunderous maximum volume level combine to create a set of earphones that is a great choice for a number of usage scenarios.
