Soul by Ludacris SL300 (Gold)

The Soul Electronics SL300s are the flagship model of a line of headphones designed and curated by hip-hop artist Ludacris. With their active noise cancellation, fold-up design, and sexy features, these headphones are undoubtedly in direct competition...

The Soul by Ludacris SL300s competes with other celebrity-endorsed headphones with active noise cancellation, a comfortably padded headband, and a generous array of accessories.

An overbearing bass bump drowns out the clarity of the sonic profile, especially in songs with electronic instruments.

Although they won't satisfy audiophiles and purists, we prefer the Soul by Ludacris SL300 headphones over the competition for their sexy light-up earpieces, supreme comfort, and street-savvy noise cancellation.

"SL300 is a good looking headphone with okay-sounding."

Undoubtedly, SL300 is one of the most beautiful cans ever seen. Although the material is plastic, it's well executed. You don't get the cheap feeling. In terms of sounding, the bass is acceptable and the resolution of mid-high is surprisingly clear.

The mid range frequency response of SL300 is low in amplitude while the bass and high is high in amplitude, which cause the strange(hollow)sounding in some occasions. Besides, the performance of active noise cancellation is mediocre.

"Best all around rapper-endorsed portable headphones"

Despite being slightly critical regarding the mids and highs, these are GREAT headphones and the BEST in their class. While these wouldn't be the choice of an audiophile for home listening since I would not describe them as transparent, I will describe...

Great looking headphones, overall sound, and bass in particular, is stronger and cleaner than others. Music with bass beats will blow you away, must hear "Bossy" by Kelis and "Oh" by Ludacris and Ciara on these!

While bass is a 10 out of 10, mids are an 8 and highs are a 7. Vocals are more accurate for male vocalists than female. High end treble is a little too prominent and can be shrill on certain tracks, but can probably be fixed with EQ settings.

"Worst pair of headphones!"

Total rip off! Stay away from those.

Noise canceling works ok. Good battery life. Many accessories supplied.

Loose bass, honky sounding cause mids and highs are off balance and recessed.

"good design and sound quality!"

Great Pair of headphones, better than studios, i was impressed with them.

good quality sound (nice bass, miss, treble etc), great design, very Comfortable, cool features including noise canceling and the light on the sides of the headphones.

sometimes interfere with signals (on the plane, radio etc when the noise canceling is turned on.)

"Better quality than Beats By Dre Studio!"

I recently returned a pair of Beats by Dre (Studio Version) for poor performance and shoddy workmanship of the carry case. After replacing once Best Buy tried to get me to take another pair but I refused and we compromised with a refund to a gift card...

Workmanship, quality sound, enhanced for use with iPod/iPad.

None thus far unless you count the stereotypical generalizations associated with wearing or using a product endorsed by an entertainer/rapper.

"Will this be the Headphone kids are shot over?"

Are people this stupid - Really? Ludacris

I'm sure these are real thumpers everyone will want. I had these on my head for less than thirty seconds.

A $300 dollar headphone and you get to donate $250.00 to the Rapper of your choice. Just think, you get to help da rapper get his fourth Rolls Royce these "Audio Engineering Genius" need to drive to their deal signing! Spend on...

"The SL300 seamlessly blends fashion with good sound."

The SL300 is an extremely good pair of headphones. I found that sonic clarity is not compromised unlike in the review. (I'm not sure if it's just me but personally I feel that sonic clarity is great after listening to songs with various electronic...

Leather earcups tend to result in ears getting warm(hot) after some time.
