Sennheiser HD 800 Review

These Sennheiser HD 800 are excellent headphones for anyone who prefers a brighter, clearer rendition. They are a bit too bright for my taste, but with a few dB subtracted around 5 kc and a boost below 50 cps, I'd love them, too. Everyone's tastes...

Sennheiser HD 800 Review

The HD 800 is a delight, a ticket to a stratospheric stereo experience - fairly neutral, with maybe a smidgeon more emphasis on the highs than the lows, and will woo you with tonal accuracy and soundstage rather than cheap (read boomy) thrills....

Excellent sounding and very resolving, Comfortable to wear - important for this grade of headphone, Detachable cable eases aftermarket cable mods, Is surprisingly forgiving on mediocre sources

Requires good amplification, Will not sound its best without a high quality source, Did we mention they're uber expensive

Sennheiser HD800

Even at the absurd pricepoint of $1400 these headphones manage to be worth it to people who want the very best sounding headphone setup. Besides that the headphones are the best sounding set of headphones I have heard to date, by far. Everything else...

Sound quality, Build quality, Comfort, Sound stage, All around performance

Expensive, Expensive, Perhaps a tad dull looking, Fairly big, uncomfortable when on the move

Supremely versatile Sennheiser headphones that are comfortable, powerful and have fantastic sound quality

Despite the price we were very impressed with the Sennheiser HD 800 headphones. They consistently handled every bass and treble note we threw at them, and the build quality is exceptional.

Incredible sound quality, comfortable

Incredible price, require amplification

Sennheiser HD800 review

These Sennheiser HD800s look a tad ‘conventional' at first glance, but they're very far from being ordinary cans. For starters, they use Sennheiser's most advanced driver tech, a larger-than-usual 56mm diaphragm and a stainless-steel transducer....

Sennheiser HD 800

Dynamic open audiophile headphones capable of 6 to 51,000Hz frequency response (at -10dB), and with an impedance of 300 Ohms. Symmetrical, shielded, Kevlar-strengthened oxygen-free copper cable (3 metres) long with 1.4-inch stereo plug. Weighs 350g....

Sennheiser does it again, upping the sound and build quality from its legendary HD 650 cans to deliver a majestic sonic experience that has to be heard to be believed. However, you’ll need a great system to extract the full £1000 of value from them....
