Finally we can say that Sennheiser HD 439 is not pricey, even it is very comfortable to wear and the sound should appeal to anyone and everyone who does not want a bass heavy set of cans.

Failed after about 13 months

I have multiple pairs of Sony headphones going on 25-30 years (including an original pair of V6s) that all still work flawlessly except for obvious wear/tear on the pads, etc. These 439s were purchased for my Daughter for computer use (not mobile use)...

Good sound quality Comfortable

Failed after just over one year of light usage!

Sound fairly decent

Don't buy this if you aren't worried about the wire on headphones breaking. There are better sounding Sennheiser headphones for around the same price without a detachable wire.

Sounds much better than bass dead Beat by Dre. which is what I had before. Well worth the price compared to most other headphones. Detachable wire while isn't the best because of the shape of it at least it comes with 2 wires and a detachable wire that...

Unplugging and plugging in the removable wire is quite difficult especially if it's your first time. Audio quality isn't the best but is much better than most other $40 headphones (while on sale + promo code)

Meh.

The sound is pretty average, there's noticeable sound leakage and it's not a comfortable set of cans whilst wearing glasses. I've noticed subtle cracking noises at higher volume levels. This affects Bowie listening....

defective

If I put my hands on the cups and press, the snapping noise goes away at any volume. These will handle anything a high end card can throw at them. I'm happy with 20% volume, so no RMA.

design ; cord and jack options ; price to performance

Anything over 20% volume I get loud snapping noise ; Long break in time

Leftshifted, not worth full price. Very comfortable though

Audio quality is decent, but probably not in the $100 full price range. My much cheaper Sennheiser CX300 *in-ears* have better audio quality, without having to double the volume output. Blocks out some sound by sheer virtue of being over-ear. You'll...

Extremely comfortable. I can wear these for hours and hours, unlike most other on or over ear designs ; Good soft, comfortable padding on earmuffs and headband, not the cheap faux leather that cracks and falls apart ; Extremely lightweight for the size...

Leftshifted. The removable audio cables -easily- get loose enough to cause the right speaker to be quieter. Sometimes I just give up playing with the jack and use my sound mixer to play at +1 right shift to compensate, which makes it sound natural...
