Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones review: A midrange contender

The $230 Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear may not fully match the larger Momentum's excellent sonics, but it gets you 80 percent of the way there.

Headphones are fairly compact but don't fold up or fold flat; may not be quite comfortable enough for some users.

Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear

The comfortable Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear headphones deliver a boosted-bass response that manages to not overwhelm the overall balance of the mix.

Distortion-free, quality audio performance with plenty of rich low-end. Very secure, comfortable on-ear design. Includes two detachable cables, one with remote control and microphone for iOS devices.

Sound signature is a bit bass heavy. No adapter accessories for headphone jacks.

If the styling of the Momentum On-Ears isn't for you, but you're still looking for some added low-end, the $299.99 KEF M500 is a solid, but pricier, option. Also stylish, but decidedly non-traditional in appearance, is the Marshall Monitor ($200),...
