Sennheiser MX55 VC Street

Even after finding a good fit, many people have trouble with earbuds inexorably sliding out of their ear canal. Sennheiser thinks it has the solution—it's called Twist-to-Fit— but we found this invention to be far worse than the problem.

In-line volume control--great idea

Twist-to-Fit: horrible idea

If you can endure the pain, the MX 55’s sound pretty damned good. They deliver solid bass response without losing touch with mids and highs. That’s quite an accomplishment considering their low price tag. And we welcome the in-line volume control on...

SENNHEISER MX55v Street 3.5mm Connector Earbud Headphone

If you buy them spend quite a lot of time trying the fittings. There is also lots of room for error in getting them in right, but if works out, they do sound great.

OK, the sound is amazing if.....you get the right size fitting

If your ear doesn't fit the fittings that come with the product then it will hurt your ears fairly quickly

Terrible Build Quality

For a pair of relatively inexpensive earbuds, I really enjoyed the clear tones and great bass on these earbuds. The unique fit was odd at first, but it proved its worth over thousands of hours of running. That being said, these are terrible earphones!...

Good sound quality, fairly secure fit

Terrible build quality, terrible design

Love and hate em.

I will not buy these again because of the cord and pieces.

Sound good ; Comfortable once you find the right pieces for the ear lock and the bud covers

Cords tangle so bad I have learned to just laugh it off. If you throw these in your pocket even for a minute, they will be a tangled mess. I beleive they tangle more than any other buds I've owned because they have the lock part that sticks out and the...

Reasonable Choice

I've used these daily to commute for over a year and they absolutely proved serviceable. The rubber hoods, or gaskets that surround the buds and seal them to your ear frequently fell off and it was usually a miracle to find them again. They do not...

The twist-to-fit design means they will stay in your ear, and they deliver a decent sound quality

Can become uncomfortable after several hours' usage. I found myself spending lots of time untangling the cord

Falls Apart & Uncomfortable

Seriously don't buy this product.

Sounds okay

These headphones are falling apart. The shiny plastic on both sides have detached, and the rubber things have completely come off of one side. The earbuds themselves are very large and the "twist to fit" system is extremely uncomfortable for my ears. I...

Good Enough

I'm not entirely impressed with these, but they serve their purpose. There are some aesthetic interchangeable parts that seem to serve no purpose other than looks, those parts seem to fall off easiest. I dont think in-ear buds can have the sound...

The twist to fit feature really helps them stay in and the volume control on the cord is convenient. Interchangeable parts make it so you can adjust them for sound and comfort. If you can position the earbud in your ear just right, you can get some...

The bass isn't anything amazing, but that might just be because I cant get them to fit perfectly. If I push on them they sound better, but I cant hold my hands up there all day. The interchangeable parts seem to fall off and get lost easily. Also part...

Good, not great

Normal buds don't stay in my ear at all. These stay in, but are wedged in so tight that it hurts. I will use these, but I wouldn't want to for more than 30 minutes. I have always had really good luck with Sennheiser products, but this is not a 5/5...

They come with a fair amount of customization options. Their sound quality is entirely acceptable. They stay very secure in your ears, even when exercising. The carrying case is nice

I cannot make them comfortable. You can change them, but only to a degree. They are designed so that the bud goes in normally and then a plastic extension wedges into the ridge above the opening to the canal. The problem for me is that this extension...

Not Bad

Much better than the 9$ pair I had before.

Sound good, good bass. They almost vibrate out of my ears sometimes. They are also very loud & volume control on cord is nice

Have to be sit perfectly in your ear to sound good, one earphone cord is much longer than the other
