Sennheiser PXC 250-II

We've seen Sennheiser's NoiseGard noise cancellation technology before, in the excellent—and extremely pricey—PXC 450 NoiseGard ($450, ). Now the company brings you the PXC 250-II, an on-ear headphone pair that, at $259.95 (list), is more affordable...

Effective noise cancellation. Can be used in passive, non-noise canceling mode. Solid audio performance at moderate volume levels

Distorts at higher volume levels on bass-heavy tracks. Large noise cancellation/battery compartment on cable. Runs on a standard (not rechargeable) AA battery

For $260, Sennheiser's PXC 250-II is a good pair of noise-canceling headphones, but if you can afford them, more expensive pairs, like Bose's QuietComfort 3, deliver much better performance.

Sennheiser PXC 250

Logic might tell you that the Sennheiser PXC 250 headphones can't possibly workthey're too small to seal out noise. But these compact, supraural (top-of-the-ear) phones with active noise reduction do a respectable job. They don't give you the tomblike...

Sennheiser PXC 250

Very comfortable; compact, foldable design; excellent high-frequency detail; taut, powerful bass; highly effective noise-canceling circuitry; storage case included; two-year warranty.

Battery pack is cumbersome.

Highly effective noise-canceling circuitry mated with detailed sound and a comfortable fit--what's not to like?

Sennheiser PXC 250 Noise-canceling Headphones

Noise-free listening for unhindered audio

The active noise-cancellation offered through these headphones help to keep out external noise as you listen to your audio. The sound quality provided by these headphones is also quite good, with clarity in treble, bass and mid ranges

The noise-canceling ability of these headphones is quite limited and will not work that well when the environment features noises from a varied spectrum of frequencies

Active noise-cancellation is the forte of this pair of headphones, and it does well in this respect to cut out all ambient noise from the environment as you enjoy your favorite audio. Couple this with great sound quality, and you have a great audio...

Sennheiser PXC 250-II

Fold up a bit better than their predecessors, but otherwise remain the same

Great frequency response, low distortion; Lightweight, comfortable design

Isolate poorly, active cancellation or not; In-line controls seem poorly designed

PXC 250-IIThe PXC 250-IIs are a great set of portable headphones. They’re comfortable, not much heavier than a pair of sunglasses, and offer excellent audio quality for $150. Their main downside is their design isn’t always conducive to portability....

Sennheiser Noiseguard PXC250 Headphones

This is a less expensive audiophilically-acceptable product for use on the move. Our reviewer described the sound as "nothing short of superb, with plenty of bass, a fine relatively out-of-head spatial effect and absolute freedom from treble nasties."...

Sennheiser PXC 250 Noise-Canceling Headphones Review and Prices

The Sennheiser PXC 250 noise-canceling headphones create a quiet space in which to enjoy your favorite music, or you can use them to simply turn off the noise and bustle of the world around you.

Good price, effective noise cancellation, relatively compact

Poor bass, non-removable external battery pack

Sennheiser PXC 250-II Travel Headphones

Are these headphones as good as the claims or is Sennheiser relying on reputation?

Do you prefer on-ear headphones or in-ear buds? Sennheiser, the German uber-brand, is well-known for its pro and consumer audio products, as well as for its breathtaking (and expensive) Neumann microphones. Now, the company has updated its...

Rich sound, great treble, good detail, comfortable

Battery pack is large, slight lack of refinement to the sound

A typically high quality product from Sennheiser, the PXC250 headphones offer a good alternative to products from Bose if you're looking for something a little cheaper. The audio quality is impressive although it doesn't quite beat what's produced by...
