Sennheiser finally beats Bose's QuietComforts, but for an exorbitant price.

Excellent noise cancellation. Comfortable fit. Deep low end. Great audio performance. Passive mode for music listening only.

Very expensive. Quite large. Volume controls hard to use when in place.

Sennheiser PXC 450 NoiseGard HEADPHONES

 

The Sennheiser PXC450 are average headphones with good audio reproduction and decent build quality, but questionable design choices. Unfortunately, the noise isolation is severely lacking and is not recommended for use in noisy environments.

Decent leakage performance. ; Great audio reproduction.

Uncomfortable, Inner-earcup design. ; Slightly overpowered mids. ; Poor noise isolation.

Great clarity, crisp sound, nice mid and treble ranges, great noise cancelling

Enjoy the quiet life with Sennheiser's latest noise-cancelling headphones

In passive mode, sound is genuinely hi-fi ; 'NoiseGard’ cancelling of unwanted background noise is very significant

Hiss level is not inaudible ; Some coloration in the midrange ; Require an extension cable for home use

As far as we’re aware, this is currently as good as it gets for making the most of listening in planes, trains and automobiles and is a fitting match to the best of today’s portable music players.
