Sony MDR-AS50G Active Headphones review

By Jasmine France (cnet.com)

The Sony MDR-AS50G Active Headphones feature an innovative design that spirals down for easy, compact storage, and it helps to ensure a secure fit. The modular cable is ideal for fitness and portable applications. The sound quality is good, and the ...

The Sony MDR-AS50G's band tends to stick out from the sides of the head, which can make it hard to conceal under hair. The band is not adjustable, so not all users will be able to have it loop behind the ear.

The Sony MDR-AS50G Active Headphones offer an affordable price tag, a secure fit, and good sound quality--they're a fantastic option for gym addicts.

"Worst Headphones I Ever Bought!!!"

By dufaul01 (cnet.com)

Read the editor's review and was excited at f...

Very Stable when working out. Other headphones tend to move around when running or lifting weights.

After about two months the right side earphone went out. Very dissapointed with the price I paid versus the quality. Hard to adjust earphones to comfort. Cord is not long enough.

No bass, It broke after few uses, volume is very low even at top volume in my ipod, Worst of all, they broke after few uses. If you sweat more than average, this designo will drive the sweat right into your ear cannal.

"Sony did forget the bass"

By mike303333 (cnet.com)

I'm returning these tomorrow. :(

Very comfortable. Comes with 3 different style of earbuds and a carrying case. Lightweight, and look to be durable.

There is absolutely no bass whatsoever in these headphones. The sound quality is worse than the standard ear buds that come with an Ipod. I tried them on two different ipods and they sounded the same to make sure.

Manufacturer's Description

The MDR-AS50G is a unique headphone with flex-shaped neckband for comfortable, secure fit during active or sports use. With bass enhanced for superior sound quality, it features comfortable silicone earbuds.
