Sony MDR-EX 1000 In-Ear Headphones Reviewed

Steven Stone has a fair amount of experience with headphones, and for many reasons, he is a bit picky. So it is worth noting that he was impressed with the functionality he discovered while reviewing the Sony MDR-EX 1000 in-ear headphones....

One of the more sophisticated sounding ear buds I've heard. They are smooth yet revealing, with a balanced harmonic balance and excellent frequency extension ; They are beautifully made. Sony's special soft cable is one of the least microphonic...

The installed cable will be too short for some applications ; Not the last word in bass. If you're a "bass freak" look elsewhere ; Getting the MDR-EX 1000 to fit properly will require experimentation ; If you need an ear bud that seals completely and...

The new Sony MDR-EX 1000 proves that Sony can think outside the ear canal when it comes to ear bud design. It combines comfort with high performance to deliver an experience that is hard to beat, especially if you want to be able to hear your...

i have owned monster, and IEMs. to compare with them, MDR EX1000 really does a good job but i can say that there are some cons about it. 1. not isolation well. 2. the tips look cheap 3. didn't stay on my ears, sometimes falling down.

clear sound and good bass

Unrivaled quality, with a unique sound signature.

I've tried a variety of earbuds of various manufacture, and all in the Sony EX line. The 1000s stand alone. Comparing them to Sony's previous flagship, the EX700's, the 1000s feature more pronounced bass response while keeping it perfectly tight and...

Pronounced but unexagerrated bass response

Good sound but not worth [$]

I have many Sony earphones including the EX700. These headphones do sound very good but they are not worth [$]. Buy the EX700 cheap while you can. These may be worth $300. I am pretty sure that is what they will cost in a month or 2.

Good Bass

Poor Value

First review MDR-EX1000

I preordered the MDR-EX1000 as a second set to the already excellent MDR-EX700. You will immediately notice the larger size and quality of the new drivers, which proudly display the "Made in Japan" label. There is no longer distortion at higher volume,...

Improved fidelity when compared to Sony's previous flaship the MDR-EX700

Price, cord is unchanged
