Sony MDR-NC300D

If you want to effectively block outside noise, but bulky headphones aren't your thing, Sony's MDR-NC300D is a solid in-ear noise-cancellation solution. But you'll have to sacrifice some audio quality in the bargain.

Top-notch, adjustable noise cancellation. Five ear tip sizes provide a secure fit. Selectable listening modes optimize bass or movie dialogue. Useful Monitor mode mutes music and eliminates noise cancellation.

Audio performance is lacking for the price. Runs on AA battery (not included). No passive mode for listening.

Sony MDR-NC300D noise-cancelling headphones

Sony's latest in-ear headphones offer great noise cancelling but are bulky

Good frequency response, excellent noise cancelling

Bulky battery pack and large in-ear monitors, no rechargeable option, painfully expensive

Sony's MDR-NC300D noise-cancelling headphones lack the main advantage of other in-ear headphones -- portability. They sound great though, and the integrated noise cancelling is a boon for office work or commuting. We just wish they weren't so expensive.

Sony MDR-NC300 Earphones

Concerned that the hissing noise may be an indication that my earphones were defective, I returned the original pair for replacement. Unfortunately, the second pair made the same hissing noise.

I've owned noise canceling headphones from Sharper Image and Bose. Hands down, this Sony has the most effective noise canceling capability. On a plane, the engine noise transmitted to the ears is almost inaudible

There is a hissing sound that can be heard through the earphones that is likely generated by the noise cancellation circuitry. This hissing is not that noticeable when playing music or a video. However, absent an audio signal, it's relatively loud

Best Noise Cancelling Earphones

I have used these for over a year for air travel, and the sound quality and cancellation efficiency are amazing. I travel on long flights so always carry 6 rechargeable batteries in the case. The body is too big but this is a first generation product,...

All digital processing, excellent sound, very good noise cancellation

First generation too bulky and heavy

Eats Batteries

The sound quality and noise suppresion on these earbuds is excellent. But beware battery life, which is 4-5 hours max under real conditions. You can not make a round trip airplane ride without the battery failing. I would not have bought them if this...

needs some tweaks

I have a pair of Bose QC15 but they were taking up too much space. These headphones have a nice form factor but the cord is a mess. I Tried to wrap the long cord with the little plastic cable management device they provide but then it is a real mess to...

sound good, small form factor

cord management is terrible; battery lifetime is shoirt

By far the best Noise Canceling Earbuds from Sony

I have owned almost all noise canceling earbuds(nce) from sony. Previous generations of nce are very basic- simple in operation. They worked fine for its useages, keeping airplane engine noises out keeping music and movie sound in. But this MDR-NC300D...

Sound is amazing

You get the sound quality of over the ear headphones without the size. I prefer earbuds for travel because they are so much easier to pack. These have the best sound I have ever heard from an earbud.

Digital quality is great; size makes it easy to carry everywhere

Price is a bit steep compared to some of the over the ear headphones but I will pay for convenience

Amazing Product, Terrible Price.

I've Never Had a Chance to Experience It, It looks Amazing, But It is a Little Expensive. So I like In-Ear Earphones and Maybe Choose One of It.
