Review: Sony MDR-NC60 Headphones

My experiences with headphones, especially on long or even short flights around the country, have never been very facilitating. Many times, I'd hear the person sitting next to me talking to a friend across the aisle or the flight attendant asking those...

Without a doubt, these noise canceling headphones will be an experience you'll never forget, even if you do find yourself on a long flight stuck between a rock and a hard place

Sony MDR-NC60

In case you want to isolate yourself from the roar of the airplane engine, or the background noise at work, these Sony earphones are a viable option. They feature a middle-of-the-road range of sound and a low playback time, if you're not using the...

These headphones have a passive play option and a reasonable battery life

They also have a limited sound range and low noise-isolation levels

These noise-canceling headphones need some improvements.

Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Cancelling Headphone

Definitely one of the better noise-cancelling headphones in the market but still a little heavy compared to the Bose comfort line products. Comes with a nice carrying case and plane adapters.

light weight, comfortable to wear

short battery life

what you see and read about, is what you get. I gave it as a gift, and so far there are no complaints. They work just as the explanation says, noise canceling does its job, and they are very comfortable!

Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Cancelling Headphone

I have had the Bose QC3, (which I exchanged for) the QC2, which were "lifted" from me while on a flight (whoever you are, you'll burn for that) several months ago.I then bought a highly, what seems now to be, self-touted "off brand," that will forever...

Excellent sound, above average noise cancellation, comfort, overall cost, can be used with NC turned off

Occasional "feedback

Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Cancelling Headphone

Within minutes--or less--of putting new or fully charged batteries into the headphones I start to get the static sound. I can't understand what's happening. Can headphones drain batteries so quickly

Cover ears nicely

Battery drains within MINUTES! Almost immediately get static sound

Poor Sony Support

Spend your money on a non-Sony product and forego the grief from Sony.

Ok

Started to cut out after several months, both Sony and Newegg extended warranty refused to cover repairs

Great Headphones

I think people are confused about the function of "Noise Cancellation". These aren't earplugs, so they're not going to act like them. They only work with consistent, low frequency noise, like an air handler or road/rail/plane noise. For that, they work...
