Family getting larger? Get some headphones!!

With the arrival of my first child and the house getting smaller as a result, finding time to do things had been getting more difficult, and the chances of any noise created being a problem increased. The simple solution seemed to be a set of...

Sony MDR V150 Monitor Series Headphones With Reversible Earcups

Decent everyday headphones for a decent price

There is plenty good to say about these headphones if you take the studio out of the equation. For everyday wear and use these headphones are fine. The highs sound lovely through these and for your average music listener, these will do fine

I hate to say it, but these headphones are totally useless as studio monitors. They don't have the ability to produce the types of sounds needed for studio work. The bass is weak and the layering is just not there. Also, they're really tight and may be...

These headphones are no good for the recording studio but that doesn't mean you can't listen to your favorite CD at home. These are affordable headphones (though somewhat uncomfortable) that will suit everyday usage.

Sony MDR-V150 Studio Monitor Headphones

I have spent an endless amount of time and energy searching high and low for the perfect set of headphones that would not cause my ears to become sore after I have worn them on my head for countless hours every day. I would seriously not want to know...

Sony MDR-V300 Headphones

After having to suffer the untimely death of my previous pair of headphones, a rather cheap pair of Aiwa's, I was in the market for a new set. Needing a pair that would provide clear sound with decent low-end response, fit my head comfortably, and not...

Outstanding performance for the price (MSRP $50), 10 ft (3m) cord will reach just about anywhere you need, Headband expands to fit even large heads, Powerful bass is a positive when watching movies or listening to music dominated by the low end

Powerful bass can wash out mids and highs in some compositions, Long cord can get in the way if being used for mobile use, Some people may find the earcups uncomfortable

Best headphones I've ever owned on a budget

I have owned my pair for years. Every so often I buy a new pair of headphones(usually under $30) and I always end up giving them away because these old things just have such higher quality sound. You cannot go wrong for a budget pair.

Great sound quality ; Long cord

Ear cover paddings wear away over time

Save up for something better

These would be well worth the money if they were built better. You'll be lucky to get more than a year of use.

Price point is superlative!

20-20K is sooo standard, almost anybody can pass that spec. These are for your children, so they won't suffer hearing loss.

The Sony Digital line has offered good and bad headphones, but the MDR-V300's are outstanding. To appreciate the clarity, transcribe lyrics to an unfamiliar song with these compared to others. The highs do not damage, where other head-phones...

Extra long cord is more appropriate to a radio sound booth than casual use. I would like to compare these to a reference set some time I can afford them

Sounds good to the wallet - Audiophile's opinion

These headphones sound pretty decent (ESP for 15$). If you've never owned anything other than apple earbuds, these will undoubtedly blow you away. They really show that even cheap "real" headphones trump earbuds. As far as overall sound quality, I'm...

Comfortable(rare for cheap cans) only 10-20$ at most sites, quality cable, surprisingly warm sound decent highs and good mid, bass is recessed but is honest and presents multiple levels, unlike skullcandies, which present that atrocious "one note bass...

The sound stage for these is fairly small even compared to other cheap cans such as the HD202. Also, no noise isolation, I strongly recommend buying over-ear phones versus on ear phones. Also listening at higher levels these tend to distort ; Biggest...

Product Specifications

Studio Monitor Series Headphones incorporate high-end materials and advanced engineering; critically clean, exceptionally clear sound for professional and high fidelity applications. Reversible earcups enable single-sided monitoring flexibility. 30 mm diameter drive units are larger than many headphones for deeper bass, lower distortion and wider dynamic range; bass response extends down to a low 18 Hz. 500 mW power handling stands up to day-in, day-out use at high output levels. Ferrite magnets allow for high energy and compact size producing ample sound output - 98 dB/mW sensitivity. Oxygen-free copper cord assures maximum conductivity, minimum noise. It conducts electricity better than conventional copper. Supra-aural design rests lightly on the ear and creates a controlled environment for better sound. Driver is positioned the correct distance from the ear canal. Wide, molded headband distributes the headphone's weight over a wide area; reduced pressure means comfortable listening for hours on end.
