Sony MDR-ZX700

Sony recently released the latest additions to its family of headphone products: the ZX series. The new series is comprised of four different models that range in price (and size) from $19.99 to $119.99. Though the much pricier MDR-Z1000 look as if...

Extremely comfortable ; Terrific passive noise isolation ; Solid build quality

Sterile sound ; No accessories included

The Sony ZX700 headphones seem like they’re meant to appeal to audiophiles and studio pros, but with such a short cord, sterile sound and no ¼-inch adapter included, we doubt they will end up being the top choice of either.

Headphones that perform on a work commute just as well as at home in front of the box.

Great sound isolation, Balanced sound, Comfortable

Limited soundstage, Sound not as smooth as some

I also listened to the Bose AE2 in the shop before buying these, and I prefer their clarity and solid feel to the just slightly crowded and muffled sound and fragile build of the AE2. The AE2s were still impressive though.

I have had these for about a month and I certainly do not consider the sound sterile but well balanced and natural sounding comfortable headphones.I feel they exceed the sound signature of the old mdr-v6 sony ,Bose Ae2 and the Audio Tech M50′s

Great clear sound at any volume. Had to stop when my ears started bleeding

The MDR-ZX700

I\'ve been using these headphones for a couple days.. the headphones have nice sound but they start to hurt the ears after extended use. None of my other headphones have ever felt like this. I will return these headphones as soon as I have time.

Sound easily worth more than the $120 price tag

A little over a month ago I purchased these headphones in my first attempt at upgrading how I listen to music and to double as monitor headphones for my beginning interest in recording guitar. After loving them I returned them for a pair of V6 after a...
