Sony PFR-V1 Personal Field Speaker

The PFR-V1 Personal Field Speaker may look a bit odd, but it provides a fun and interesting audio experience. Unfortunately, it's also overpriced, impractical, and plagued by distortion at higher volumes.

Comfortable. Unconventional design adds space and depth to the listening field.

Overpriced. Distortion at low frequencies. People around you can hear your music.

Sony PFR-V1 Personal Field Speaker Headphones

Sony's latest headphones may look strange, but the sound they produce is simply sublime.

It's not too often that I'm genuinely surprised by a product, but that's exactly what happened when I placed the PFR-V1s on my head. Perhaps unfairly, I hadn't expected these headphones to sound anywhere near as good as they do, and even now I'm not...
