Works exactly liked i hoped for dvd burner

I have an msi 880gm-e43, it has 5 sata 2 ports. i have one 60gb patriot solid drive for os, two muskins, stipped raid sofware 60 gb, and two mechanical drives, 500gbs, soft raid at 7200rpm, i needed an extra sata port for dvd player, this worked...

Easy to install, just open up the case, and pushed the little gadet inot the ide slot, i tested on passmark test actually scored higher than dvd drive connected motherboard sata port. cheap, looks a little delicate, but i like the design, not really...

none that i can think of for what i wanted it for

Works as stated

I bought two of these and they work out of the box.

It works ; Allows both master and slave drives on a standard or Ultra 133 IDE. Was able to load OS without a problem

Speed lowers due to not recognizing an 80 pin IDE cable

Works great supporting a server boot volume!

I bought this adapter because I was building a Solaris ZFS NAS and I needed all of my SATA ports for the actual storage pool. I wanted to run the boot volume in a mirror but I didn't need a lot of bandwidth. So I bought this and two WD 2.5" 80GB caviar...

Product exceeded my performance expectations. I'm booting from it with a set of mirrored SATA drives and it performs fine without any lockups or hitches. With that said remember you only have at most 133MB (depending on the interface it could be less)...

I can't think of any. It does what it should and any problems you may run into would be the fault of the installer/user. Obviously if your performance expectations are that you are going to have 6Gbit of bandwidth you're going to be very unhappy, or if...

Does what it's supposed to

Great way to use up that unused IDE port on your motherboard, especially if your board has only two SATA ports.

Easy installation with no configuration required. BIOS recognized it immediately with no problems. Works exactly as advertised

Could pose an installation problem for folks with hard drives or other components overhanging the IDE port. Also, watch out for cables leaning against the adapter. The fit isn't really too snug, so it tends to lean if pushed
