Turtle Beach Ear Force X31 Gaming Headset review: Turtle Beach Ear Force X31 Gaming Headset

Last month we took the Turtle Beach Ear Force P21s for a spin using its chat function with our PlayStation 3. To be fair, we thought we would even the playing field by checking out the company's Xbox 360 headset and voice chat solution with the Ear...

Wireless stereo headset; adjustable boom mic; bass booster; audio bypass cable; includes everything you need.

Stereo only; wireless RF interferes with Wi-Fi and vice versa.

The X31 is a great stereo wireless gaming headset for the Xbox 360, we just wish it could handle Dolby Digital playback.

Great Microphone but not much else

This is the one device that I have been using every day for over 3 years and it still keeps on trucking; in the same time I had 3 computers and 4 phones/ipods. Turtle beach, if you ever read this, PLEASE make a new headset with the exact same...

This heaset has been serving me well for over 3 years now. I literally recorded thousands of videos on my youtube channel using this thing. It simply has the best microphone quality out of any headset. It is also convenient to have the wireless...

As much as i love the microphone quality, that's pretty much where the compliments end. The wireless connectivity slowly declined after my time using it to the point where even walking 10 feet away from the computer is too much. There is constant...

Don't waste your time or money

Do not purchase this especially if you are buying it for the price point. You will just waste your money.

The sound quality is decent when it functions correctly.

This device operates on the world's most commonly used frequency: 2.4Ghz. If you aren't technologically inclined, that means that the majority of your use will involve loud cracks and pops in the audio as other devices around your house and other...

so close to perfect

- For the price you will have a hard time finding equal or better headsets for the xbox. If you can catch them on sale theyre a steal.

- Super padded, comfortable headband, along with large oval shaped ear cups makes for the ideal headset for long gaming sessions. - Surround sound is great and ive had no problems with the mic. - Wireless is easy to set up and doesn't suffer from...

- "Effects" seems almost pointless. Hard to tell what the difference is between each effect and is more so annoying than practical. - Biggest con is the fact that it takes 2 AAA batteries, which it eats through quickly. My set is now over a year old...

Dead on arravel

...

It arrived quickly...

Tried for a couple of hours to connect the headphone but no sound can be heard... I wonder if this refurbished item was ever tested or not? I have sent the RMA request and will update the review to let you know what kind of RMA services they have!

Great but watch for interference

I initially thought it was defective since it kept dropping signal and/or breaking up continuously. I contacted newegg and they were going to send me a replacement no questions asked. They emailed me an RMA in a day or 2. But I found out by doing a...

Good clear sound being a wireless headset. Haven't had any defects with it yet even though I thought it was defective at first (i'll get into that in other thoughts). The adjust-ability of the mic is great and the headset fits nice, not too tight not...

Seems to break connection/crackle easily by interference (this is also due to the fact that I have many mobile devices in my house) Batteries only last about 10 hrs max so by rechargeable!! There is now audible beep/noise to let you know the batteries...

Only for Xbox

This headset is for Xbox only, it will not work with a computer. It hooks up to your audio cables on the TV.

Light weight, comfortable

Very limited, difficult wire connections

Beware for PC users

I'm sure I will love this headset once the adapter gets here. Wish I had known ahead of time so I wouldn't have to wait another week. My mistake was choosing PC headset in the search options and just assuming any headsets that would pop up would be for...

Nice looking headset.

If you are purchasing for PC use, you will need to purchase a $12 adapter from turtle beach, not bad right? Well, they have no ground shipping options, so a quick and cheap fix quickly becomes $30. Just irritating.

Great Price

It was only forty bucks when I purchased it, so way better than the Bluetooth Xbox headset. Next time, I will go a lot bigger on a good quality headset.

It is wireless. It isn't Bluetooth. It's a double ear headset rather than just one ear like the starter kit. The headset has decent mid pick up, really sensitive if you don't talk loud because of roommates or whatever reason.

The audio quality is pretty bad. I've tried it a few different ways, and it seems there is a bit of interference. Also, to get the audio through the headset, you have to hook up to a Red and White audio input. That's a pain if you do HDMI. However, I...
