Turtle Beach Ear Force Z SEVEN Gaming Headset Review

The Turtle Beach SEVEN headset is gorgeous and outputs a great sound, but the Z SEVEN Audio Control Unit is confusing fluff that doesn't even perform a tenth of its absurd price.

Turtle Beach Ear Force Z SEVEN Gaming Headset Review

Turtle Beach is back with not a sound card this time, but a kick-ass gaming headset. Let's take a close look at the Ear Force Z SEVEN.

Turtle Beach ZSEVEN

High build and audio quality mark this gaming headset out from the crowd

Good overall sound quality ; Well built ; Dolby virtual surround works well ; ACU provides multiple connection options ; Versatile thanks to many audio mode options

Headband is uncomfortably tight ; ACU design too fussy ; Too many little slip ups to justify its price

The full range of setup options for the SEVEN series range is shown below.

HORRIBLE

They have fixed it each time I send it back. Customer service is friendly its just too bad they haven't made this right.

The sound is AMAZING

It has broken 4 times in less than a year. The earpiece where the plastic bends breaks with regular use. The mic is very static filled. If I could get the sound quality of this headset with the mic quality of my Logitech I would be set

Didn't last long

There are better headsets for the money.

Received headset plugged it in and it worked. The headset looks great and the mic works really well and is really flexible

Sound wasn't that great and was choppy at times. The headphones stopped working after 4 months. My older pair of turtle beach headphones lasted a lot longer. Time to try a different brand

You get what you pay for, a brand name designed to milk money for ever breaking parts.

5.1, uses 3.5mm and usb. Can be used with a 3.5mm/6.3mm sound card

I do what I can to preserve this headset, even in that the breakaway cable breaks constantly; constantly. It's around 10.00 on their website, but because I live in Hawaii they force me to pay 30.00 for shipping which of course I do not pay for. The...
