Aliph Jawbone Prime

The new Aliph Jawbone Prime makes priorities of both audio quality and comfort. This $130 model (as of April 23, 2009) upholds the high standards set by the previous Jawbone, but it goes to greater lengths to increase your comfort.

Impressive call quality and noise reduction ; Wear with or without ear loop

Pricey ; Limited Talk button tactile feedback

If you're in the market for a Bluetooth headset, Jawbone Prime sets the new standard for others to try to match. Aliph reports that consumers will be able to buy the Jawbone Prime starting May 2, 2009

Aliph Jawbone Prime

Just like its predecessor, the Prime is a real looker. It's compact and curved with a textured exterior panel and a single, small light that flashes white when the gadget is turning on and red when it's turning off. The two headsets are pretty much...

Top-notch wind noise cancellation. Very good voice transmission quality. Stylish. More comfortable than its predecessor

Low earpiece volume. Expensive. Short battery life ; Watch the Aliph Jawbone Prime in action

Aliph's latest Jawbone headset, the Prime, is a terrific choice for anyone who's stymied by wind—or just wants a high-quality, high-style headset.

BlueAnt’s Q1 headset reads inbound text messages to you

Here's a video showing the new BlueAnt Android application that works with its Q1 Bluetooth headset. The app will detect inbound text messages and automatically read them to you over the headset.... This is great for people that spend a lot of time in...

Review: Jawbone Prime

Aliph's latest Bluetooth headset, the Jawbone Prime, is a compact, stylish model available in a variety of colors. Its noise-reduction technology is impressive, but it's not the best headset for volume level and call-reception quality.

Externally, the Jawbone Prime isn’t dramatically different from the Jawbone 2: a new texture graces the gently curving, rectangular outer shell, and new color choices let you accessorize. The most notable functional change to the design is the Prime’s...

Review: Review of the BlueAnt Q1 Bluetooth headset

Ricky spent a bit of time testing out the BlueAnt Q1 Bluetooth headset, which features a speaker independent voice command system for most headset functions. Read his review to find out how it performed in the real world.

I actually agree with that comment. I have one of these headsets right now since I was testing it with some Android software, and I like it quite a bit. The voice commands can be clunky, but you don't actually need them for much of anything once the...

Read Aliph Jawbone Prime Bluetooth Headset

Just a couple months after we reviewed the Jawbone II, Aliph released the Jawbone Prime. Among the improvements is NoiseAssassin 2.0 which is supposed to work better in windy environments than the Jawbone II's NoiseAssassin. What exactly do these...

Several different earbuds and earhooks included ; Available in a variety of different colors ; Slightly better than the Jawbone II

Uses proprietary charging cable ; No dedicated volume button ; Hidden buttons easy to accidently push

The Jawbone line of headsets have always been known for their excellent ability to cancel out background noise, the the Jawbone Prime is no exception. However, it is my thoughts that there is not a big enough difference between the Jawbone Prime and...

Review: Jawbone Prime Bluetooth headset

When it comes to stylish Bluetooth headsets, the Jawbone is king. Yes there is very rarely any crossover between “stylish” and “headset” but relative speaking, the Jawbone is a good looking product. With the Prime, their newest offering, the company...

Review: Jawbone Prime headset gives color to audio

The latest iteration of Aliph's Bluetooth headset is lightweight, stylish and efficient

Product Specifications

Jawbone PRIME uses an algorithm that digitally fuses together the best audio from its two electret microphones and its patented Voice Activity Sensor to create a single, natural sounding speech signal. The industry-standard microphone approach used by most headset companies fails as the microphones become saturated with wind noise distorting the low-end frequencies of speech. By leveraging some innovative DSP techniques and Jawbone's proprietary Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) to reconstruct the missing speech they have managed to implement a wind solution that maintains their award-winning design without having to apply a visually disruptive wind-sock or baffle to physically block the wind.
