Asus Travelite HS-1000W

Not content enough with producing top notch motherboards and sound cards, as well as creating a completely new product in the form of the infamous Eee netbooks, Asus tries their hand at producing a headset. This being Asus, there has to be something...

Also included in the package is a small hard case that can store the headset and its’ accessories, allowing for easy transport without the risk of damage, handy for LAN parties.

ASUS Travelite HS-1000W Wireless Headset

Alongside its range of Xonar sound cards, ASUS takes a shot at the headset market with the wireless HS-1000W and James checks them out today.

In closure, I will re-iterate that for serious music listeners, wireless technology (at least in my testing experience) is not a good solution, with the inherent fuzz enough to scare off any audiophile and the lack of bass depth and wholeness also...

Sounds great, drivers an issue

I was using onboard sound and upgraded to this card. My games and music sound spectacular. Huge improvement. I got this particular card so I could wire my optical cable headphones and 5.1 speakers into the card at the same time (just need to switch...

High quality soundcard.

I listen to music and play games on my computer. I had an Audigy 2 ZS for about ten years. It was a great card and served me well for a long time. I also have regular onboard sound (RealTek) on my other computer. I did a lot of research and to my...

Great headphone output, horrible microphone input

I bought this primarily for the noise cancellation feature, to be used while gaming. The headphone output is very good; clear and powerful. Unfortunately, it turns out the card has a major problem with electrical interference, and the interference is...

It's the simple things

Bought it, to power a 7.1 Razer Tiamat. Didn't like the Tiamat. So figured why am I spending $200 on a soundcard I'll never use. No fault of the card, it worked well enough. Although, one glaring thing that the engineers at ASUS missed is color coding...

Great hardware but drivers need some work

First of all, use the beta drivers and not the ones on the CD. I had to knock 1 star off because of the current driver status. The beta drivers seem to correct many of the previous issues with certain games and settings. The card has a lot of custom...

A great purchase, but better if you wait

You could go with almost any Xonar sound card if you're looking for an upgrade from your crappy onboard device, but if you want to go a bit further you should consider the Phoebus; especially if your main activity is gaming. To make it brief I've...

It's amazing, when it works

I'm just going to put the big flaw with this card right up front. The drivers don't work with games that use Punkbuster. It's a known issue. It wouldn't be so bad if there were just sound problems, but they cause BSODs, the game to lock up on a frozen...
