Bose MIE2 review: Bose MIE2

As the name implies, the Bose's IE2 earphones are the second generation of Bose's in-ear headphones. Truth be told, we weren't impressed with the first iteration of this model, which some users complained didn't fit securely in their ears and caused...

Improved sound; earphones fit securely and comfortably; protective carrying case included; "open" design has its appeal; pleasantly full bass; in-line microphone for cellphone use.

Fit may not appeal to everyone, especially those who prefer noise-isolating earphones; treble is a little on the harsh side.

The Bose MIE2/MIE2i headsets offer a good combination of comfort and solid sonics for the money.

Bose MIE2

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The Bose MIE2 in-ear headphones don’t really have anything that grabs us. They had decent performance results, but not by a stretch that set them apart from the crowd. The only unique aspect of the MIE2s is their weird sleeve shape, and we didn’t think...

"Second Pair and will be buying more!"

I bought this pair because I lost my the last one. The first pair was the last generation and did not have the stay flanges that this pair has, but other than that, they are the same. I read most of the review before I bought my first pair, and again...

"Great earbud. The best sound. Buy them."

I was about to go to Best Buy and purchase a set of MIE2I earbuds based on the ratings. I mentioned this to a friend who gave me a pair of almost new MIE2I earbuds she could not use. I enjoyed them for three days until somehow they disappeared. They...

Sound Sound Sound, comfort and IPHONE control.

None except for as mentioned the cost and maybe the construction being not so durable.

"Pleasantly surprising, great quality earbuds."

The only real reason I gave these earbuds a 4.5/5 instead of a 5/5 is the sound leakage and non-noise isolation. The quality is phenomenal with each and every kind of music. I've tested these with everything - Nicki Minaj, Jim Croce, deadmau5, Chick...

Bass is definitely prominent, but not overwhelming.

Sound leaks out of your ear.

"Great sounding bass, average build quality"

Really great sounding earphones. I found them to be perfect for taking calls, using Siri, and enjoying a range of music. Less than a year and I had to put electrical-tape at the joints. I was taking good care of them too, so it's not just cable...

-Bass is deep and rounded, I REALLY enjoyed the listening experience, though that's just my taste.

-Cable quality isn't awesome: Susceptible to significant strain near the fittings (remote and earpieces), as the cable is so soft, bending leads to cracks in the cable insulation.

"Comfortable, good quality, but mediocre EQ mixing."

Short version: if you like music with heavy bass (hip hop, house, techno, etc.), I promise you'll get all tingly in your stomach with excitement. But for those who like music with a need for depth of sound (acoustic, folk, jazz, really anything other...

Very comfortable.

Bass is half of what you hear. Upper-mids and highs aren't in balance.

"Awesome headphones with quality you'd expect from Bose."

These headphones are awesome to say the least. I my honest opinion, if you just want a pair of good headphones and are really torn by the price, don't get them. If price is not an issue or if these will be a big investment for you, by all means get...

Top notch sound quality. Very comfortable. Perfect for listening wherever you go. All buttons are easily accessible and function well. Secure tip is incredibly secure, perfect for running. For someone that LOVES music, they're the perfect investment

The price is too high. Yes Bose sets a high standard but no need for this high price .A notable con is the fact that the buds don't block out noise, so when you're on the subway or outside, you will hear the noise around you, but your ears benefit.

Worth the money!!!

I had to replace my headset after my dog chewed through it. After weeks of research I decided on the Bose MIE2 and I am glad I did. As someone that travels via train, walks long distances and at least once a month will drive up 12 hours non-stop and...
