Labs Brief: Corsair Raptor HS40

Corsair adds to its Raptor range with a pair of less than convincing cans.

The HS40’s are quite large – used on what we’d rate as a large head they needed to be reduced to the smallest band size to fit comfortably. In the land in which they were designed the people must have noggins the size of watermelons...

Corsair Raptor HS40 Review

A little while ago Corsair acquired Raptor Gaming to bolster their entry level peripherals, we now look to the new HS40 USB gaming headset.

Choosing an entry headset on a tight budget can seem fairly daunting as you never know what to expect amongst the hoards of cheap looking plastic 'clackyphones'. However, in a sub £40 market, it is understandable that there are various aspects that...

headphones work real nice

by going sli with my pc I had to give up the front headphone jack. my second card would not fit or be recognized if the front headphone jack was connected. so I looked everywhere other headphones were way expensive and the adapter cables would not...

usb work real nice and they work

If not for the broken earphone, these would get 5/5.

Great sound clarity. Hear things clearly no matter the volume ; Outstanding mic, even on skype, g-mod, and other multiperson chats ; Listening to music is also pretty good, and these headphones can pump some Bass

about 5-6 months into using them, the left earphone stopped working. The right ear and mic still worked, but it just totally killed my immersion into gaming

Stopped working after 2 months

Was a great headset when it worked ; Comfortable, Good Sound Quality and affordable

Had trouble making it work with win 8.1 ; and stopped working after 2 months use

Great; 7.1 really makes a difference

The leather is pretty nice for a 49.99/59.99 headphones.

These headphones is a great improvement then my other Artic Cooling headphones that broke in less then a month ; I can really hear a difference between my other 5.1s and 7.1. There a little too heavy, but I have a big head so thats not really a major...

A little heavy at first, but it will fit in after a couple days of use

i originally tested these as a newegg eggxpert review, and passed them off to my GF. but since my Rosewills's took a clap, i have been STUCK with them and i have to say these things are HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

mic is okay - probably the best part of them ;

their TOO tight ; they make you SWEAT ; can NOT hear outside noises/voices ; they are so uncomfortable they wanna make you QUIT using the net w/ headphones. and voice calls from google is a downer... especially to long distance friends or family

I have big ears, and they fit.

If you're like me and haven't owned a quality headset, this is a great place to start. Just wish the 10% code was active when I bought it a few weeks ago. Thanks Corsair for quality stuff!

Well I've had these for about two weeks now after my last headset was literally hanging from a wire. This is the first time I've spent more than $30 on a headset, and I must say I'm impressed. I wanted to go for one of the more expensive headsets, but...

None that I can think of. I'm a casual gamer, who does want a quality headset. This hits the nail on the head, I couldn't ask for more

Sounds nice, great price, but not recommended for... smaller people.

Let me start off the review by saying I'm VERY unlikely to be happy with a headset. I used a dinky Logitech G330 for years, but it finally broke. I liked that headset mostly because it was lightweight and accommodating to a variety of head and ear...

Sound quality, value, noise cancelling, mic quality

Very large, bulky

For 60 bucks...not bad. They feel more like $40 though. Gosh every single pair of gaming headsets I have ever owned have broken quickly, even some expensive turtle beaches, they all seem to be made with weak materials. My studio ath m50s on the other...

Looks good, for price you pay

Bulky size, mediocre sound quality. Microphone arm joint broke within 5 minutes of use, cheap plastic. But easily fixed that with some electrical tape and now it is probably stronger than it was
