Corsair Raptor HS30 Gaming Headset Review

'12 Flares 12 Flares \xd7 Corsair has been refreshing its gaming headset range as of late. Today we will take a look at the value-orientated Raptor HS30 analogue gaming headset. Built around 40mm Neodymium drivers encased in closed ear cups,...

Not too good

It came in a nice package and was very organized.

The quality is good enough but not the best. The wire length is good and the noise cancelling is good

The mic is too far away from the mouth than it should be. I found out that the microphone audio is very bad and has static. The headset is uncomfortable for me to wear for my amount of gaming hours

"Okay" headphones, bad mic.

I'm planning to immediately hand these off to my significant other, and we will test them to see if they happen to work better with her laptop and on-board sound. I plan to invest in the 1500's next when I have the money. The reviews that say you'll...

Looks nice, seemed promising ; Got it on sale ; Extremely comfortable

Mic seems to either be defective or outright poor quality, I mean REALLY terrible, it's literally unusable using 3 different inputs, my rear dedicated soundcard panel, my onboard sound, and my external soundcard ; I tried adjusting settings, this is...

bad from the start

I installed these in my pc with a creative sound blaster x-fi extreme gamer sound card and all was ok except for the mic static, which is exceptionally loud with mic boost on(which u need on with this headset since no one can hear you without it). i...

fit and comfort

tons of static from mic when speaking (i was forced to put on my old headset so i can actually have a conversation without some complaining about the noise coming from the mic), sound is extremely hollow and unimpressive, also have a problem with it...

Paying $55 for a heatset you would assume it would just work but with low sound quality, well, this headset doesn't even work when you plug it in. The constant static noise from the microphone and the chess match you have to play to get sound to work...

Very comfortable when wearing. The headset feels to be pretty solid and doesn't seem like it would break after daily useage

Microphone arm is very short, you have to talk very loudly for anything to work, I've tried to turn up the outbound volume but it didn't work very well ; When you are actually able to use the microphone, there is a very obvious static noise when...

Not a bad headset

all and all everything works ,its got good sound but doesn't go really loud by any means but will do the job for gaming and talking to friends. Really good buy for the price for sure. If you need a good headset for the now and your on a budget or need...

not bad sound at all ; Nice and clear ; No crackling ; Volume Control on wire ; On/Off switch

doesn't crank very loud

When the cable was in just the right position the sound was pretty good, and I was really hoping that the first pair was just a fluke. I hate to do it, but I'm just going to have to take the grandson down to Best Buy and let him try the headphones they...

They look cool

Unless Newegg simply turned around and sent back my original order, these headphones have a design flaw. Any movement of the cable causes the audio to cut in and out between a mono and stereo like feed. I just figured the first pair had a short in the...

Solid, Sturdy and Good Sound Quality

For the price of this head set you'll struggle to find a better value. I have a set of competitor headphones with a Mic that were trash after approximately 5 months. The mic fell off and the build quality was questionable from day one. With these...

1. This product is very easy to setup. Plug into the Mic and Audio ports of your computer and most modern operating systems detect them immediately ; 2. Sound quality is solid until approximately 60% of the in-line volume knob is used. Beyond this is...

1. The look is questionable. I would have preferred a solid black color scheme ; 2. The identifiers on the 3.5mm jacks are extremely difficult to read and, because they both follow the maroon red color theme of the headphones it's impossible to tell...

Mediocre but alright

Though this headset produces good sound, it doesn't come close to most premium headsets on the market. That being said the price point is lower than much premium headsets so you are looking at a budget headset which suffices as a basic gaming headset....

Construction wise it feels sturdy and doesn't seem to be cheaply made unlike other headsets. The ear pads feel quite nice and do not press hard against the ears. Overall sound quality is alright, typical of most gaming headsets but nothing...

The mic seemed to be the only part of the headset that was pretty cheaply made. Felt as if it would break easily if I pulled hard enough. The overall fit on the head felt weird. Not really comfortable or ergonomic compared to other headsets. The noise...

Average Comfort, analog gaming headset

Other thoughts: For the price, I would certainly recommend them. Personally, I'd want it USB, (because I do voice to text) more comfortable and better sounding, but for this price range, I can certainly wouldn't recommend against them.

To me, first and foremost, gaming headphones should be all about 1 thing: long term COMFORT. It doesn’t matter if it’s the world’s best sounding headphones, with every feature and gizmo built in; if after 5 minutes of wearing them, you get a headache,...

If you ever want to use these as voice to text, USB is better. But if you want to use these to listen to mp3s, USB is useless. So that’s a tradeoff. Decide accordingly. Do not get these (or any 1/8” jack analog) if you want to do voice to text
