I bought this item for my husband to use while out hunting. So far he is very happy with it.

The headset that comes with the Midland GXT900VP4 is junk. This is the best ear piece with built-in microphone we have found. Still, the transmissions are not as strong as with the external microphones, or with no headset at all.

Looks and feels okay, but it is hard to hear someone talking from this unit. \nYou need to get close to the mic and talk pretty loud to be heard. If you need to speak softly you can't use this unit. Also interference/loud alerts can hurt your ear. But...
