Motorola H17txt MotoSpeak Bluetooth headset (Black)

Motorola continues its trend of making tiny Bluetooth headsets with the Motorola H17txt. As a successor to the H15 and the H12, Motorola touts the H17txt as one if its smallest headsets yet. The reason it can be so small is because it has a flip-switch...

The Motorola H17txt is a small and compact headset with a flip-switch boom mic, a decent fit, and good call quality. It also has multipoint technology and it only needs a 15-minute charge for 2 hours of talk time. MotoSpeak compatibility helps users to...

The Motorola H17txt has tiny volume controls. A2DP audio streaming is less than ideal given the device's single-speaker design

The Motorola H17txt is a simple headset with good sound quality for most everyday situations.

Editors' note: The Motorola H17txt is a re-release of the previously reviewed Motorola H17 Bluetooth headset with the addition of compatibility with the MotoSpeak app for Android and BlackBerry. Accordingly, we've reproduced the H17 review here with a...

Motorola H17txt

Unfortunately, I found the app to be too buggy. Acronym translation, one of the headset's star features, was hit-or-miss in testing. Sometimes it read "laugh out loud" for LOL, but it missed others, even though it comes with a list of 150 supported...

Reads caller ID and full text messages out loud, and even translates acronyms. Supports A2DP streaming over mono. Comfortable fit

Texting features only work with Android smartphones. App may have to be updated for your specific smartphone

The Motorola H17txt reads your text messages to you, but only if you have an Android phone or newer BlackBerry. While this is still a good headset, other headsets are better buys overall.

Read Motorola H17txt Bluetooth Headset

For the most part, Bluetooth headsets all seem to offer a similar set of features.  However, Motorola's newest headset, the H17txt brings something new to the table; the ability to read text messages to the user as soon as they are received.  With more...

Reads text messages as soon as they are received ; Comfortable to wear ; Flip open boom mic makes it easy to quickly turn on headset when receiving a call

No iPhone support for MotoSpeak app ; Does not read emails ; Free version of MotoSpeak app only reads up to 25 words ; Pro version of MotoSpeak app costs an additional $14

The Motorola H17txt by itself is a pretty impressive headset.  While it really doesn't boast any specific noise cancellation features like the Jawbone or Motorola HX1, it did a respectable job when it came to background noise cancellation.  It was also...

Review: Motorola H17 Flip Bluetooth Headset

As announced earlier, the new Motorola H17 Flip Bluetooth Headset arrived here at JAMM, and I have had the opportunity to test it out for the last two weeks.

However, this one made me reconsider that choice.  Today, after I returned the unit Motorola loaned me, I found I was missed using it. I am seriuosly thinking I may give Motorola my $79.99 to keep the H17 with me at all times.

Enjoy the simplicity but had 2 with Microphone static

Simple, easy, light - great sound quality

Microphone generated static causing sound breakups on both H17 models I have had. I will not try a 3rd

The volume range is very nice

the earrubber hooks come off.the headset goes on LOW battery after a 30min conversation! The headset warns you about LOW battery levels,by interupting your talk.it won't turn on after being "closed" to save energy.big failure for $80

call on 2nd line beeps in quietly (though I've never switched from one phone to the other) ; Battery level warnings ; phone 1 connected" "phone 2 disconnected" - warnings are helpful

uncomfortable ear hook ; speaker generates heat and kinda burns my ear if worn too long
