Review: Plantronics Explorer 340

The Plantronics Explorer 340 (and its brother, the 350) is a great value headset with great sound quality, but Brendan came out slightly disappointed with it in the end. Read our review to find out why.

Good looking, easy to use, good audio quality

Uncomfortable to wear for long periods

Durable, comfortable headset at a great price

I bought mine over 2 years ago when they sold for $80+, and have been satisfied with it ever since. I vastly prefer it over my other headset, an Aliph Jawbone 2 that's caused me nothing but frustration. At $80+ the Explorer 340 was a good solid headset...

Solid, durable, fits comfortably in my ear, stays put, won't fall off. Holds charge well with lots of talk time. Stays paired to my phone and doesn't drop bluetooth connection like other headsets

Minimal noise suppression causes audio quality to degrade in noisy environments. Also a little smaller than I'd like. Would prefer longer mike boom and perhaps over-the-head option

Excellent In-Door Piece with NO Noise canceling

First off, I'm a field tech for a major telecommunications wireless company. For this reason, I use my blue tooth 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week. I use it indoors, outdoors, in noisy environments, quiet environments, you name it. My Plantronics...

Small, perfect fit, high volume, fantastic sound quality both ways

No Noise canceling, can only use in quiet environments

One of the best headsets I have purchased.

I have had a Jabra, who makes very nice headsets, but gave it up because my model took to long to connect. I have had a Motorola hs500, low volume, buttons get stuck, no earhook adjustment, but maintained good range. Now have the plantronics Explorer...

Headset pairs easy. Stays connected until you disconnect it. Sounds great in noisy conditions. Volume is loud, can adjust up or down from side. Earhook and earabud helps it stay in place. Lightweight

Noticed that range distance fades out way before 30 feet unless phone is near you. No car charger, but 8 hour talk time

The 340: same model as the 350

The Explorer 340 is exactly like the 350, except the 350 has a USB cable, and a car charger with a cool vent clip used to hold the headset while it charges. The 340 only comes with an AC charger and I don't really need the AC charger, since I'm always...

Price (with rebates), Solid build, Good looks

Stiff multi-function button, Static, Crackles at high volume, no car or USB connector

easy to use and great audio quality

this is overall a great product. easy to use and great for hands free on ur cell phone. i use mine on the computer to record things and talk to people. but to do this you need a bluetooth usb dongle for your computer but these are not expensive. all i...

good battery life, easy to use, nice fit

range is sometimes a problem. interference

Nice little headset that's quite affordable.

I bought this for my wife on Black Friday 2006 for 1/2 price of $25. You don't need to go fight the crow, just order it on-line for around $35. At that time, it just came out or something and I thought it was actually the Explorer 320. It connected...

Good sound, good size, easy to use

May not fit everyone nicely
